What’s wrong with this site? I used to visit it every day to watch my favorite Filipino shows. But these days (to be exact months), not anymore. It is full of spams, virus, adevertisements, pop-ups and errors.
In my previous posts, I recommended it. Sad to say, I want to retract it, unless the site will get better. I had to reformat my computer a month ago, because of the spywares, trojans, and virus that I got from the site. Why am I saying this? Because, it was only the site that I frequent with so many spams.
Well, I am in search for a Filipino website. For now, I am enjoying my views on Hulu.Com. It’s American, but at least, I can be sure that it is not full of advertisements and pop-ups.

Seeing people succeed and conquer whatever field he has chosen is a scene to behold. It is an inspiration for an ordinary Filipino dreamer like me. Listening to a rag-to-riches story is like a fairy tale to me.
Over the weekend, a story of rudeness and scandalous demeanor ruled the Philippine media. It starred no less than the renowned Filipino designer, Boyet Fajardo. The setting, the Duty Free Philippines Fiesta Mall in Parañaque City.
I am warning you now. What you will read here is very saddening and a big slap to our Filipino pride. Let us continue.
It all started when a cashier at the store requested Fajardo for his photo ID, after he presented an unsigned credit card as payment of his purchase. It is an SOP (and common sense) — identification card is needed when using a credit card wherever you are. However, the designer was not amused, and reacted hysterically. He could not believed that the store staffs do not know him. He is famous and powerful, according to him. He berated the said cashier and the attending store officer. Get ready for the worst part — he uttered that he would only be satisfied and stopped if the cashier will kneel down in front of him and allows him (Fajardo) to slap his (cashier) face. He cussed and threatened to call the higher position to terminate the cashier. I know, it is so sad. For the rest of the story, you may visit the news from ABS-CBN.
One last note — Fajardo should choose his battle. Do not go for people whom you know that do not have the courage and financial resources to fight you. Pick someone else, somebody of your own league. By the way, I do not know you too. Do not cuss me for it. Bohoo!
Do you want get mad even more? Check out this video when the cashier knelt down infront of Fajardo. If this news really irritates you, join the petition to boycott Fajardo’s clothing lines.

The Philippine Master Rapper, Francis Magalona, is gone for good after he lost a battle with the big C at the age of 44. Indeed, this is another sad week in the Philippines and a reason for some of us to mourn.
He is a patriotic artist, who is never ashamed of his heritage. It reflects in his artworks and his songs. Whenever I hear his songs, it makes me proud to be a Filipino. He is one great man to be remembered.
Check out his last days through his Multiply blog, a Free Mind.

I have a confession to make. I was hooked with this season’s The Bachelor. Sure, I have watched the first season of the show, and after that, I got bored. I eventually forgot about the show’s existence until I saw a clip of Jason Mesnick crying after The Bachelorette’s Deanna Pappas dumped him. It was somewhat hoping that this single dad would finally find his one true love. But man, after last night’s show, I was stunned. He dumped his fiancee, Melissa Rycroft, on national television and went back to Molly, whom he had dumped during the final rose ceremony! That’s not classy of him at all! Honestly, I liked Molly than Mellisa. When Jason picked Mellisa, I was disappointed, but after what he did, my impression on him tuned 180 degrees. As for Molly, I trully understand if she took the risk of accepting Jason’s love the second time around. She loves him.
But you know what, there is more to this turn of event. Of course, it is all about the money! To think of it, why would a sane man do such hideous thing on national TV? Well, this reminds me to NEVER watch the show again.

I want to share to you a very good documentary film (by BBC) about a struggling part of Manila, Philippines. It depicts the contradiction of the church’s and the government’s beliefs concerning sex and reproductive health. Also, it shows the relation of poverty with the undying population explosion in the country.
I just saw it this morning in PinoyChannel.TV. Good thing –there is no need to register for you to access the videos.
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Hope you enjoy it! Not really. I should say, be grateful. If you are reading my blog, you must have a good life. Computers are not cheap. You are lucky with your life.

I woke up this morning so sad. I was still thinking of last night’s result in American Idol. My bet, Anoop Desai, did not make it to the top 12.
I am still hoping though that, he will be coming back to the show as a wild card participant.

I got an unexpected call from my daughter’s school today. I thought that, she did something bad or something had gone wrong, but it was a sweet surprise.
After she garnered a score of 131 in SAGES-2 exam (passing is 120), she had undergone various testings (including phsychological). During this period, I did not made any follow up. After 60 days of screening and approval period, which is done by the school district, an adjudication was made. She is now officially part of the gifted-child program. She could start attending the said advanced class the next school day. But I decided to give her a week to say her goodbyes to her (soon-to-be-old) classmates and her very nice teacher.
For the third times this school year, my 7-year old daughter is transfering class again. She is not thrilled about it, but it is for her future. This is a very big break for her and our family. It will be in the same school, but in the advanced class for the 1st graders. I am very excited.
Fastforward — I can’t wait for her to finished high school and apply for scholarships in an Ivy League school in the country. Well, she needs to continue being a good student to achieve this. This is too overwhelming — my daughter living my (childhood) dream.
