Hello, everyone! I have decided to create this page for the purpose of answering some questions you have about K-3 & K-4 US visa applications, as well as its consequent filing for adjustment of status to legal permanent residents. I do not claim to be an expert, but just a mere seeker for immigration knowledge, since I did our own case. In short, I am a big time researcher. To make my answer credible, I will be posting any related link for your reference.
You can post your question as a comment here. If you are a CR-1 and K-1 visa applicant, you can shoot me a question too. K-3 and K-1 have mostly the same process. Do not forget to state your type of visa (K-3, K-1 or CR-1), so its easy for me understand your case. For the required documents, you may want to read and print this list (click the link) from the embassy’s website:
By the way, I am ready now to answer to adjustment of status realted queries. As you know, my case was approved. My way must have worked then.
Welcome aboard!
Addendum:
Due to more than a thousand comments posted in this page (in 3 mos. time), I have decided to create an archive. This should shorten and hasten the uploading of this page, especially not all of us has the same internet speed connection. You can view or print it by PDF. If you want to search specific topic, just hit Control+F, then type the keyword in the blank space provided (in PDF program).
Archive 1 — Comments from March 2009 – May 2009 (140 pages)
By the way, I would love to hear your good news. Keep me posted of you case and interview outcome. I can also post your interview experience here. Remember, two heads are better than one.

Hello Ting,
Just wanna ask… what was the next step after you had your K-3 visa? How did you process your status adjustment? Hope you can help me.
Thank you:)
Grace
Hi Grace,
Once you are in the US, you can file form I-485 (AOS), along with I-765 (EAD) and I-131 (Advance Parole) if you want. Here is a GUIDE.
By the way, I will soon put up a page about K-3 Adjustment of Status.
Regards,
Tingting
Hi Ting,glad your back…
Thank you, Diane. I am happy to be back.
Hello..I’m happy u’r back po..
Jut wanna ask..since I’m pregnant, my husband and our immigration lawyer asked help from a senator and they submitted my medical certificate to expedite my visa processing..U think they would take my UTI, occasional uterine contractions and emotional stress – medical certificate from my OB, as a valid reason?
I-130 NOA1: 04/08/09
I-129F NOA1: 05/19/09
The senator’s office forwarded our request to USCIS. My husband wants me to give birth in US..but my OB would only allow me to travel until end of August coz my due date is on 1st week of October.
In your opinion, you think we’ll have a chance to be approved? We are waiting for the notice from USCIS until now.
Thanks..
Hi missy22,
In my OWN opinion, if your husband is a member of the military forces, yes, it is possible. But if not, there is a slim chance. As you said, you asked the help of your senator to expedite the process, who knows this will be a way to expedite it. This office is also of great help to other applicants.
Tingting
hello, just want to inquire regarding my documents in National Visa Center, supposedly, I should be receiving my schedule for my interview in the us embassy in manila but the NVC told my hubby that the NSO Birth Certificate we submitted should have “NOTARY SEAL” , I’m wondering, how and where am I gonna get that? the NSO officer told me that I should get Form 1 A from my municipal and then bring it to the NSO Office so it can be authenticated. My question is, is this a right procedure? And do I need to go to Manila to get that “Red Ribbon”? I’m so confused..Pls do help me.
Hi estef,
There is no such thing as NOTARY SEAL for documents issued by NSO. The paper they use is in itself the security measure. That’s why it’s called NSO SECPA (security paper) document. YOu need to get the CERTIFIED COPY from NSO. I agree. Go to the nearest NSO Office in your locality, and request for the CERTIFIED COPY. This should suffice for ALL immigration requirement. If the document is not available with the central NSO Office, you will know. They will inform you right then and there. Then, this is where the electronic endorsement comes in. Meaning, you go to the municipal/city registrar to where you were born and file for the endorsement. In my case, it took 15 working days from request date to availability date.
Also, if you have the orginal document with you, you can have it authenticated at the NSO Office. But really, I strongly suggest to use the CERTIFIED COPY.
Tingting
Tingting,
Thanks for ‘d reply..
My husband worked in Iraq (as Military contractor in US Air Force) until Dec. of 2008 and after we got married last January 2009, he decided to stay there until I can finally move over to the US. The lawyer and my husband submitted an affidavit stating that he also serve for the US working in Iraq under Air Force Base. Well I hope we could really be granted of an expedited process.
We are still waiting for the USCIS’ decision.
Thanks!
-MISSY22
missy22,
Good luck.
Looks like the sun is shining for you, girl.
hi ting,
got here in u.s last may 13,just wanna ask if need pa ba ko mgmedical again for AOS? thanks
WELCOME BACK ,I’m glad your blog is back
Hello again Ms. Ting,
I got that Certified Copy already.
Thanks a lot for the info. You’re such a big help.
Hay naku, just don’t know what to do without you and your blog.
I’m just so glad and thankful that you’re back here… Maraming salamat talaga and Mabuhay ka…
Hi jelyn,
You need to go the nearest USCIS designated civil surgeon in your place. The doctor will then determine if you need more vaccinations or not. If you are here on a K-1 or K-3 visa, you do not need the whole medical exam if you will do your AOS in less than a year from the date you have the medical exam at SLEC.
Tingting
ok ting, thanks ha di ko kc alam kung anong unang gawin…
salamat
PWEDE bang pumunta muna ako sa civil surgeon to get medical before filing aos? para submit ko na lang lahat pagkatapos…?
hi miss ting…im glad you’re back…ask ko lang kc i got married the same day i arrived in the us then after 2 weeks nagfiled kami ng adjustment of status nd ng EAD 2geder with thr required docs including the immunization record given by st luke’s…kaya lang si pa ako nagpapavaccine ng 1 shot ng td…kc iniisip namin 2 file my aos para wala ng problem…ok lang ba yun…btw i already have my biometrics…
jelyn,
You’re welcome.
Actually, the first step in filing for AOS is to go to the designated civil surgeon and bring USCIS form I-693. You need to submit the completed and signed (by the doctor) I-693 along with your AOS packet.
gie,
Ideally, you need to submit the signed I-693 (vaccination record part) with your AOS packet. You do not have to worry. USCIS will inform you (through an RFE notice) if they need any lacking documents. I suggest that you complete now (2nd shoot or booster) your lacking vaccinations with your local health clinic. Do not wait for the RFE notice.
Tingting
thanks ting, next week i am going to civil surgeon i Got my schedule already salamat…
ok thanks pero fiance visa ako kala ko di na kelangan…miss ting ilang months before ko makuha yung green card ko…thanks
jelyn, you’re welcome.
gei, when you arrive here in the US, you need to file for AOS. This means, you can not work unless you will have your EAD and/or greencard. It usually takes 6-8 months from filing to AOS interview date. If approve, it is another 2-3 weeks when the GC will arrive in your mail.
actually may reply yung uscis na they already ordered the production of my ead card but the gc wla pa sila update about my application
gie,
In my case, my AOS interview date is about 6 mos. from filing.
Tingting
thanks…im just waiting for my employment authorization card then apply for my sss…hay hopefully mkahanap me ng work agad kc miss ting naiinip na ako…neways thanks for ol the help
lexa
gie, you are welcome.
Hi Lexa,
Flaterred naman ako nyan. It is nice to know that I somewhat help other immigrants.
By “medical exam” result, do you mean the X-Ray films? If it is, yes, you are right. It should be given to you at the POE. Just keep it and bring it to your AOS medical exam, if they need it. The real medical exam results, which was included in the packet that you received along with the approved visa, should be not in your possession. It should be with the immigration officer that attended you at the POE. Please re-check, and get back to me soon.
If you do not have your greencard yet, I suggest not to let your child stay away from you. During your AOS interview, you need to present valid proofs that she/he is your child. Being away from you is not a good sign.
Regards,
Tingting
hello ting musta ,im jingky ask unta ko ting about ako passport kay gikan man gud ko singapore last year pero nadeport ko deli ko sure pud kay wala may deport nga nakita nako sa passport basta ako deli na makabalik sa singapore pwede pa ba nako magamit ako passport para us kay nag fiance visa man gud ko so okey raba japon ako passport mabisahan kaha ko
Hi Jinky,
Of course! Singapore and US are tollaty different country. Both countries are governed by different immigrations laws. Okay lang yung passport mo.
hello po
thanks mam for replying. we already have our green card po and our socila security number cards too. we went here on a CR1 and CR2 visa mam. yes mam at the POE they gave me our Xray on cd that was in the packet and an envelope that the papers on it is my medical records that St. lukes gave us. where will i submit them mam? and when can i apply for that AOS?
so mam my son cannot go to school in the place where my auntie lives?
you are really what my friend told me mam.thanks so much for all the help you are giving to all filipinas who are in need.god bless you and your journey mam
thanks LEXA
Hi Lexa,
Since you already have your GC, then there should be no problem of your child going to your aunt for schooling. D not bother with the medical result that you have. You are basically done with the critical part of the process. Do you have the 2-yr GC or 10-yy?
Congrats!
Tingting
we have the 2 yr GC mam the seminar they gave us in the philiipines before we got here they say we need to apply for that conditional status of our GC 90 days before our second yr anniversary from the day we got here?
thanks mam
god bless po

hi ting
Hi Ms. Ting,,,,,thanks naman your back lagi akong nagbasa sa site mo nong nasa pinas pa ako karating ko lng dito last July 5 ask ko lng pag nafil up na namin yong 1-485 san namin ipadala para maka register kami…..i wait your reply…thanks Ting
hello tin tanong ko lang about adjust of status, ano yong requirments for my daughter?
hi its me again…kailangan ba talaga yong medical from civil surgeon dito sa Us?kasi yong pumunta kami ng immigration sa lousiana yong binigay lang is I-485 I-131 at authorization for employment…wala yong form for midical…
Hi Lexa,
To be safe, your kid should be with you while in the US, especially you do not have the 10-yr GC yet. He/she has a derivative status with your application. Meaning, your tie as mother-and-child is very strong if she/he stays with you. This is only if your child is not a biological child of your US petitioner. If he/she is, I assume, she/he is a US citizen already, and so there should be no problem.
Hi aydsss,
Do yo mean the date of your notice of receipt (NOA1) is July 10? Check mo nga? Baka July 10 is just the mailing date. Kung oo, yeah, yan ang date na start yung processing mo.
Hi Maria,
Congrats and welcome to the US! The address on where you will file your I-485 depends on your home addres, spefically on what state you live. Actually, you can read the list in the instructions part of the form, whcih you can download in the USCIS website. Remember to read the instructions, detail per detail. Good luck.
Hi Sheila,
First, I need ot know on what type of visa you have. If you are on K-1 or K-3, you do not need the whole medical exam as long as you file your AOS within 1 year from your medical exam date in St. Lukes. YOu only need the vaccination supplement which will be signed by the USCIS designated civil surgeon at a minimal cost — less than 100dollars. You and your kid need to complete your vaccination here in the US if you still have lacking shots. YOu will know this from the DS-3025 that SLEC gave you after the med exam.
HI TING
nag sinungaling nalang cguro yon
naiinis na kac ako sa lawyer na kinuha nya.but ganun
Hi aydsss,
Ask the lawyer for the tracking reference of the document. Just tell him, for your records. Para ma-clear.
Kelan nag-clear yung check na binayad mo for USCIS. The receipt date is usually near that date.
ting
im here again…ang ibig sabihin pala yun hindi March 9 niya pinadala ang application namin…kundi july pa or june ganun cgoro ting noh..
frustrate na ako kc ang tagal na.
hello..
thanks sa pagreply..
hay naku..sna nga po ma-aprub, lapit na kc due date ko (less than 3 mos.)
til 1st week of Sept. lang ako i-allow ng OB ko to travel..
thanks again..Godbless!!!
-missy22
hi ting thank you so much for the information and reply…i’m k3/k4..my daughter is already give a vaccin last june before sya naka inroled sa school dito kasi required talag yon…naku mahal pala talaga yong vaccine dito…
miss ting kelangan po ba talaga authorized surgeon or doctor ng uscis ang magbibigay ng booster shot ko for td??? or pwede na sa local health center…anu ang kelangan ko ipresent sa uscis…miss ting kc sa aug 21 na ang interview ko…another thing isa sa requiremnt ko for interview is a complete medical exam…valid pa naman yung medical exam na inundergo ko sa st lukes d ba??? hope u can help me regarding my query about where to get my 2nd shot ???
aydsss,
just keep your fingers crossed. you will never know…your case will be approved earlier than expected.
missy22,
good luck and congrast sa baby.
shiela,
you are right. the vaccines are very expensive. if you have insurance, you can ask them if they covered it…but anyway, looks like you are done na. congrats!
gie,
no need to go to the uscis designated civil surgeon for the vaccines. you can go to your local health clinic. it’s cheaper, and even in some places, it’s free. about naman sa requiremnt for your interview, it should be stated in the letter that you got from uscis. also, make sure to bring thr original or certified copy of the documents that you submitted with your packet. kelan ka ba nag-medical exam sa SLEC? kung within year pa from august 21, pwede pa yun…
miss ting kc binasa ko sa uscis dapat designated civil surgeon…tapos isa ko pang problem kc last mar i was given a tdAp na vaccine ang need ko na booster is td…which is a 10 year booster…need ko pa ba yun. saka nalagay dun sa uscis i need 2 fill up the 1st part nung form I-163 WHICH is info about me nd part 5 na ipapacertify sa civil surgeon…miss ting paki help naman ako magresearch thanks…actually naipass ko na lahat ng requirement… i enclosed it when i applied for my aos
e2 po yung part sa uscis…correct me if im wrong do i need to have my booster or i jus need to give them the vaccination documentation worksheet given by SLEc. btw i had my med exam last mar 2009
miss ting anu po ba saan ko po pwede kunin yung td shot ko?last mar i was given d tdap vaccine? kelangan po ba talaga sa civil surgeon designated by the uscis????
thanks Ting
goodluck sau at sa family mo
dami ka talagang natutulungan….
aydsss
cdo
HI gie,
That is why it is very important that your first step in filing for AOS is to go to the USCIS civil surgeon and then he/she will determine what vaccines you need to complete. This is what I did.
1. I went to the USCIS designated civil surgeon, and brought the USCIS form. He will dtermine is you need the booster or not. The imporant thing is, he signs the form.
2. He gave me the list of the vaccines that I need, and told that I will have the vaccines in another clinic. This should not be a problem.
3. I went to our local health clinic to have the vaccines.
4. I went back to the civil surgeon and showed him a proof that I did my vaccines needed in the local health center.
5. e signed my I-693 form.
6. I included the signed form in my AOS application.
Since you had your medical exam at SLEC just this March 2009, then you only need the vaccination suplement form for your AOS, if you are on K-1 or K-3 and will apply your AOS before Jan 2010, preferably.
aydsss,
salamat din.
ting,
i am done with my appointment with civil surgeon, and now im getting ready to send the aos packet ,my question is do we need to pay tha aos application first? and where?how?
thanks and God bless u
HI jelyn,
You need to enclose the payment check inside the AOS packet. Make sure you write the correct amount.
Hi gie,
Yes, merong fee pero minimal lang naman. It should not be more than 100dollars per applicant. since you already submitted your vaccination, you are good to go.
YOu are right again. Once GC is available, the EAD is not necessary anymore. The EAD is just a permit to get a work even before the GC inssuance.
Congrats!
pero miss ting kelangan ko pa din kunin yung 2nd shot nung 1 vaccine ko or the vaccination record given by slec will do?
yes. you need to finish it. yung din ginawa ko sa akin para sure. my interview is also in august. panigurado na rin…
thanks miss ting for all the info…
ting,
nalilito ako, money order or check iwan ko kc i thought we will pay through money order then we will wait for the reciept and enclose the reciept on the aos packet….pls enlighten me.
thanks
hi jelyn you cud issue the check tapos enclose mo sa aos application mo…kc ganun yung ginawa ko wala naman naging problem…suggestion ko gawa ka ng checklist ng mga documents na ipapass mo gawin mo cover letter….after 1 week dumating na yung receipt of notice ko
miss ting sensya na yung sinagot ko yung query ni jelyn…im just sharing what i have done with my application…
ashley
hi ting!!
this is ashley, im done with the interview last friday july17 and i got the visa approved, im k3. im just curious about something,
pgkatapos ko kc s interview s CO sabi nya approved n daw aq at ala nman daw kc problem s mga papers ko, then sabi ng CO s labas lang muna aq then wait for my name to be called, so they called my name to window 37 and the guy gave me some of my papers back tapos binigyan nya aq ng pink slip with 2 sheet of form para daw un s babayaran ko s air21 for delivery of the visa, one is for me and one is for my daughter, then i filled up the form then straight to the air21 booth to pay for the delivery…ang tanong ko lang pg nakapag bayad nb aq means ok n ang lahat at hihintayin ko nalang ang visa to deliver? or the embassy have to do some verification documents? cuz based in my xperienced everything come out good, ala nman cnabi ang CO about s papers ko, if i need to pay for the verification or if i am under review or i need to bring some docu again, ala nmang ganun basta sabi nalang nya OK NA AND UR APPROVED.
ashley
ting
im happy kc i found ur site again…
do u think how long it takes to get and deliver the visa? im from manila, i really need to go as soon as possible kc my hubby is going to deploy to iraq by september, sad to say pero sana nman ndi matuloy kc we’ve been waiting for this moment to come tapos iiwanan n nman pala nya aq…heheh…lol..then i got one more question, do i need to get a clearance for my daughter from DSWD just to bring her with me? she is under k4 ting and ok nman n ang interview nmin…
thanks alot ting for all the idea and advice u’ve been given to me…godbless!! im so happy to found ur site again…
ashley
ting
do u have an idea of what is the possible time to receive the visa? im living in manila. just curious kc baka they have to verify or do something to my papers kya baka matagalan ang delivery…i just can’t wait to get the visa in hand…
thanks gie,salamat sa info
hi gie
pwede magtanong ano yong mga papers na pinasa mo sa adjust of status?…
Hi Jelyn,
You can pay either personal check, cashier’s check or money order. You will enlose the check or money order document in the AOS packet, and not the receipt. Please note that, a money order is just like a check. However, it is issued by a a third party company.
Gie,
No problem.
Hi Ashley,
It will take about 3 days from visa printing. Even when you are approved, it does not mean that the visa will be printed on the same day. Just like mine… my interview was August 3, and was approved. However, my visa was printed on August 6. I suggest, you call the embassy hotline and ask about your visa, whether it is PRINTED OR ISSUED already or not. Make sure to ask the ISSUANCE, not just the approval. Two different things…
ting
im so glad ur back and thanks for the info….
so do u think i should’nt worry about my visa right as long as it was approved? im just gonna wait for the air21 to deliver the visa here but i hope its not gonna take long like 1 month or something,,
one more question ting, do i need to get a travel clearance permit to my daughter (K4) from the DSWD?
thank u so much for helping us out ting…ur such a big help..godbless
Hi Ashley,
Paying Air21 is a very good sign. Do not worry anymore,
No need to get the DSWD travel clearance for your kid, since you are the biological mother already.
The DSWD travel clearance is applicable only if the child travels ALONE or is accompanied by a person OTHER THAN his or her parents.
hi ting!!
just letting u know that the air21 text me already just now to inform me that they got my docs from the usem, and they’re coming here to the house anytime soon….so excited to have my visa in hand ting…
Hi mS. Ting & To all,
I learn a lot from this site… By the way how long it will takes to process Immigrant Visa? My Husband Received the NOA1(receipt notice) last June 18,2009..I miss my husband very much..Its really hard not to be with him.. Can You please give me also the process details of this kind of Visa.. Thank You in Advance…Pleaseeeeeeeeeeee thank you…
miss ting question po need ko po bang isucmit yung cd ng chest xray ko sa local health dep or i need to submit it sa uscis during my interview????
2 cristine…i really forgot yung list eh..ang suggest ion ko visit mo yung website ng uscis sa services and benefits andun yung permanent green card tapos click mo yung application process….binasa ko yung mga instruction per form kc yun yung guide mo how to answer the form and what are the docs needed to submit along your application…pero as far as i know madali lang yung mga docs???
Hi Ashley,
Congrats! Welcome!
Hi Mel,
What type of visa — CR-1 or IR-1?
Hi Gie,
You do not need to submit it. How it when they ask for it.
hi ting!!
just wanna ask something cuz it really bothered me..
1–do i need to file a seperate AOS for me and for my daughter (K4) as soon as i get there?
2–but how? my hubby did’nt file a seperate petition (I-130) on behalf of my daughters name when he filed mine…
3–should i need to file an I-130 for her first before i can file her AOS? and wait for her approval? (she is only 5 yrs.old ting), and how about if i file our AOS at the same time?
4–or maybe i have to wait til my daughter get her I-130 file or approval then we can file our AOS?
5–and ano n nga pala gagawin ko dun s approved n I-130 ko ting? wala nb pakinabang un?
ting hope u can explain it to me of what am i suppose to do, if i can file my AOS first then my daughter is to follow nalang later pgkatapos nmin mg-file ng I-130 nya, pwede kaya ung ganun ting bale male-late ang AOS ng daughter ko at unahin ko ung sakin? ting hope maturuan mo aq ng dapat ko gawin about filling the AOS kc naguguluhan talaga aq dahil samin ng daughter ko…d ko alam kung dapat b aq mauna s kanya or sabay nlang kmi, nghihinayang din kc aq s medical n ginawa nmin dto baka mg-expiren pg d aq ng file nun kagad
thank u so much ting and godbless u always!!!
Ms. ting,
IR-1 hope u can help me.. Thank you so much..
Hi Ashley,
1. Yes, separate AOS for you and your child. Although it is advisable to file for AOS as soon as you arrive here, if it is beyond your means, you can wait. K-3 and K-4 visa are good for 2 years. The only thing of having not to fiile for AOS is you can not apply for SSN or work. However, you have the option to file for work permit at a cost of $340.00 dollars.
2. Same as mine. We did not send my daughter’s I-130 when we filed for the K-3 and K-3 petition. However, during AOS, we submitted it along with the AOS packet. Hence, we paid I-130 fee + AOS fee for my daughter. No problem at all.
3. No need to file her I-130 ahead or separately. Submit it together with her AOS.
4. The approved I-130 is your ticket to filing for AOS. DO NOT ever lose it. YOu need to include a copy of your approved I-130 in your AOS packet. When you get the K-3 visa, it’s the I-129F that has no more use.
Hey, girl. Check your email….your case is the same as mine. I will tell you what I did.
hi ting!!
just got the visa now…finally!!!!! yipeeeeehhh!!!! goin to states on august.04,2009 at 8am via phil. airlines…
ting, pano b to kc i need the passport for the stamp and sticker from the CFO dba, but nasa loob xa ng plastic ng visa packet ung mga passport nmin ng daughter ko, what should i do? there is a reminder there that TO BE OPENED ONLY BY UNITED STATES IMMIGRATION etc..etc… so pano ko makukuha ang passport s loob ng plastic? is it ok to get it or touch the plastic? natatakot tuloy aq baka mgka-problema s POE ko ei…need help pls……what should i do now?
Hi mel,
It depends on your service center. Average days from NOA1 to NOA2 is 140 days.
You can check the complete statistics in this link…http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/irstats.php?cfl=
ms. ting,
California Service Center po… Ma’m mahirap po ba ang process?
ting
add me again s ym mo, dami ko kc nawalang email add dun
eto ym ko ting..
marj_cruz8287@yahoo.com
ting,,thanks you so very much for helping me,,,ur such a big help for us..godbless ting..
Hi mel,
You are in luck…California is among the faster service centers.
Hi Ashley,
I sent you an email. Please check.
Hi Ahsley,
About pala sa visa package mo, you can get your passport naman. Just make sure that you will not open the BROWN ENVELOP. Yan yung pinaka-important. Use a cutter or scissor to make a slit sa plastic, tapos i-slide mo palabas ang passport mo.
hi ting!!
i got ur email heheh,, thanks!!
i e-mailed u back also ting…salamat ng marami s lahat!!
ting
s ilalim b ng plastic ko bubutasan? bale dalawa ung plastic nya ei, isa s air21 pos ung isang plastic nandun nman ung passport saka visa package ko,,transparrent cla parehas ting…i think bubutasan ko nalang ung dalawang plastic to get the passport but maliit lang n butas dba and be carefull nga sabi mo,,,thank you…
Okay lang yan butasan, basta yung brown envelop hindi siya ma-open.
Ms. ting
any idea how long para po mareceive namin yun NOA2…??? Thank you po… pwede rin po ba namin i try yun Cr-1 visa?
ms. ting,
sorry po CR -1 visa po pala ako ngkamali po ako..Ask ko po sana ano po ba difference ng K3 visa sa CR-1 visa? Thankyou po
Ms Ting,
Pasensya napo, One more thing ma’m i plan po na lumipat ng apartment na tinitirhan kasi yun hauz namin nasa probinsya thats why i need to rent here in manila coz i’m working here.. Ma’m yun address po n nasa 130 e dito po sa apartment ko, kaya lang lilipat napo ako next month.. Ma’m makakaapekto po ba ito sa process? and ano po gagawin ko after ko makalipat ng address… Ty po
hi tin,
tanong ko lang kailangan ba talaga na seperate yong pag file ng daughter ko for adjust of status? kasama sya sa I-130 ko ng mag file yong husband ko for me…please help me tin…
mel,
Average from NOA1 to NOA2 –140 days. Pero every case is unique naman….some are approved faster thatn this, some longer…
CR-1 is an immigrant visa, while K-3 is non-immigrant. Meaning, there is no need to apply for AOS for CR-1 visa holder. They will receive their greencard in the mail a few weeks after they arrive in the US. As for K-3 visa holders, they need to apply for AOS once they arrive in the US. So they have to wait for another 8-12 mos. for their greencard.
YOu need to call the embassy and USCIS for the change of your address. They may send your visa and other document in the old address.
Hi Shiela,
Yes. You need to file separately. Meaning, her AOS fee is different from yours. Also, you need to file her I-130 (in addition to her AOS) if your husband did not file her I-130 during the K-3 and K-4 process. You do not have to do it at the same time naman. Pero if you file her AOS together sa inyo, then you will save $330.00. You will only pay $600, instead of the $930.00 amount for filing separately. Do not forget the payment of her I-130 too — $355.00.
Sheila,
Do note that I-130 should be filed for EACH beneficiary.
Ms. Tin,,
god bless you always and your whole family mam thank you so much.
respectfully
lexa
hi ms. ting,
good day ting may ask lang ako, i had my interview last july 22,2009 and the consul said, seems my papers are all ok, tell ur husband that he dont need to worry everything is ok, but we need something from u to submit just 2 things, get another NBI using ur husbands surname, and ur daugthers b.c so at window 37 gave me white paper with check on submission of nbi and my childs b.c, and there is 3 categories below the white paper, with a checked on the word- SUBMISSION OF REQUIRED DOCUMENTS-SUBMIT AT WINDOW 17 TO 20 MONDAY TO THURSDAY ….so what do u think ting, am i approved? i just want to have a peaceful mind and si hubby medyo worried coz he is expecting me to get approved… i need ur help ting to ease my mind … pls reply.. thank you soo much

miss ting question po kc may appointment ako 2morow for my vaccination kelangan ko po bang magdala ng envelope or the doctor ang magproprovide di ba dapat nakaseal????
Mel,
Wala ka palang NOA2 no? You call USCIS lang, huwag na sa embassy kasi wala pa naman silang copy sa case mo.
Lexa,
You’re welcome!
Charmie,
Looks like you are on your way to the US. Huwag mo lang tagalan i-submit ang papers na ni-required nila. Congrats!
Ashley,
Actually, I got my ticket online, directly from Continental Airlin website. Mas mura compare sa ibang airlines. Pero taga-saan ka ba? Baka meron tayong mahanap na travel agency…
Shiela,
You’re welcome.
Gie,
They have the blank forms and the envelop needed. They usually enclose the signed form in an envelop with their letterhead/logo. Do not forget to bring your vaccination records, yung binigay sa yo sa SLEC.
Ms tin,
Thank you very much, pero di nman po ba magiging dahilan ito para tumagal yun pagreciv ko ng NOA2? thankyou po ng marami.. God Bless po sa inyo at family nyo..
Oh no, not a reason at all. Besides, it’s not you who will receive the NOA2. It’s your USC petitioner. He will get it in his mail.
hi ms. ting

Hi Charmaine,
It’s fine for her to just follow you in the US. Don’t sweat it. The BC that you will get from the local registrar should suffice. Good luck!
Hi Mel,
You’re welcome.
Hi Ashley,
I suggest to contact Philippine Airline for this issue. Every airline has a different policy.
Here is what i got from the PAL website…
Infants
Passengers under the age of two and at least 16 days old. Infant not occupying a seat gets 90% discount based on the accompanying adult’s fare. Infant discount applies to EconoLight fares is 50%. Birth certificate is required when buying the ticket.
Based on this, looks like you need to pay a fare, not just the tax. Don’t worry even if you will buy the ticket just now, your child can still seat with you. The seat assignement is done at the airport on the day of your departure. Book now the ticket for your child.
Make sure to ask the airlines if what you paid is the TRAVEL TAX or just a sales tax. It’s 2 different things.
Regards,
Tingting
hi ms ting! i find your site very helpful especially for us who are clueless about going to the US. I have recently finished my medical exam last july 8 and will be interviewed on july 28 for an IR 1 visa. I just would like to ask since st lukes did not give the passport and my medical result, will I not be asked of it when I will be interviewed? I understand that it will be forwarded to the embassy already however I could not help but feel a little anxious about it….Another thing, how long will I be getting the visa? I haven’t booked any ticket yet however my husband wants me there on the first week of August. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post…More power.
Hi Mish,
That’s right. SLEC will forward your passport to the embassy themselves. It’s a good sign. That means your med exam result is good. Keep cool.
It usually takes 3-5 days from date of visa issuance, if you are outright approved.
Good luck!
Tingting
thanks for the very fast reply ms, ting! Just want you to know that your site is truly helpful…All the best for you….
ting
pano ako mgpa-book ng ticket s infant ko? d pb kasama ung binayaran ni hubby s continental airlies para dun?
naguguluhan talaga aq ting..pano ko gagawin to, kung sakali bang ala binayarang ticket ng infant pos flight n nmin that day, d b kami makakaalis nun dahil lang dun or pwede ko kaya d airport ko nalang babayaran ang ticket and tax ng infant bale punta nalang me ng maaga dun para maayos ko pa…pwed kaya un ting? do u thnik theres another way to pay her ticket even in the airport the day i leave? please ting help me…
Hi ting,
thank you soo much, soo maybe next week i can submmit the docs, that they need from me, my childs b.c even just from local registrars office, coz i know it will take time bago mag release ng copy and nso, ill just explain to them if ever they ask me why its not nso security paper,it will shows that its late register sya, maraming salamat ting, once im done submitting the 2 docs, balitaan kita…and pray for me also ting kasi ung asawa ko napaparanoid na thinking na madedelay ako eh naghahanda na sya ng apartment namin lam mo na… worried lang… thank you again….bye
Hi Mish,
You’re welcome. Nice to know that I also help others.
Hi Ashley,
You need to check with the airline. You can also check your bookings online, and see if your daughter’s name apears on the ticket. It’s better that you pay it now…at least, you do not have to worry about anything at the airport.
Hi Charmaine,
You can have the orginal BC autheticated by NSO at a minimal cost. When I did it in 2007, it was around Php.125.00. All you need to do is present it, and NSO will stamp something at the back of the document as authentication. Just be optimistic about the whole and you will be good. Good luck!
hello ms ting..i had my interview last july 6, 2009. unfortunately, they were not able to approve the petition because of wrong affidavit of support. Tomorrow, july 27, i’ll be submitting my correct support. i would just like to ask if i can rush the visa? because im attending the wedding of my nephew on august 8…is there a faster way of getting my visa aside from mailing it to our house? my sister in law said that i can rush my visa by paying some amount and the visa/passport can be picked up in the embassy. is that possible? thank you
Hi ting!
wow ting i feel so so better now! pwede pala yon? so once i get her local copy of her b.c i can present it to NSO and they will stamp it for authentication… wow ting ang galing mo naman buti nandyan ka kasi worry ako eh… now i feel more fine.. well tomorrow ill go to local registrar office and get her b.c then go to NSO…. THANK YOU ULIT TING ….UR SOO GOOD AND GOD BLESS YOU AND UR FAMILY…
Hi Kayenne,
There is no such thing as paying “extra” to rush the visa issuance. All you can do is request from the embassy to personally get your visa there, so they do not have to mail it to you. However, you still have to wait for a few days. This will depend on when they will print the visa.
Hi Charmie,
Do not forget to electronically endorsement the BC with the civil registrar when you got there.
helo again..thanks for fast response. ill just update you tomorrow…
Hi ting.
yeah i will do that ting thanks for replying us here asap… balitaan kita kung ano mangyayari bukas ok see yah! thank you soo much……
hi..have one more question, im going to take 2 shots of vaccine this aug. one for hpv and varicella. just want to know if i can buy the remaining shots in the phil.? and just bring it to u.s bec as u have said it’s expensive there.
Hi Kayenne,
You can complete whatever you can complete in the Philippines, but you can not buy it and bring it here. You need to go to a doctor and clinic for it.Do note, vaccines normally has a month gap from 1 shot to the next.
Balitaan mo ako ha…
Hi Charmie,
Welcome. Keep me posted.
miss ting di naman po me binigyan ng shot ng vaccine kc yung 1st shot ko good for 10 years…so i jas paid 35 dollars for the documentation…they just copied yung history ko from the vaccination report n binigay ng SLEC…neways ok lang kahit napagastos pa kami. btw ask ko lang kung nakapg interview ka na po…kinakabahan kc ako anu kaya yung mga question na itatanon???
Sa Aug 19 pa ang interview ko.
him miss ting c tina po uli again, ask ko lng po kung deny pba application for k1 visa eh pnapaalam poba nla agad nla un or same tumatagal din mga 6 to 7 months? hoping for your reply. tina
Hi ting
good day! ting nakuha ko na ung b.c nya from registrars but tomorow and realease ng secpa, ung security paper tapos ung advance endorsement monday pa lalabas, kaya tomorow punta na ko us embassy to submit docs.. im soo glad ting na medyo magaan na pakiramdam ko im almost done with this.. ok update nalang kita reagarding sa lakad ko tomorow sa embassy… thanks you
Hi Tina,
Yes, pinapaalam nila kung denied ang application for visa. Don’t lose hope.
Hi Charmie,
Good luck! Balitaan mo ako..
miss ting tnx for the reply and for that words, yes im not loosing my hope, im still hanging on that. i know its comming, just thinking positive. in the near future i may be ask again, tnx again and god bless!
Hi ting,
hay naku ting na release ur secpa, b.c ng 1 30 pm kasi inantay pa ung pipirma sa likod, ehh nga try naman ako at hinabol ko ung time di na ko umabot sa us embassy to submit kasi nga naman, 1 pm to 2 pm lang monday to thursday eh nakarating ako embassy 2 20 pm balik nalang daw me bukas.. well i know im very late nag try lang ako baka makalusot.. he he he but ting sa tingin mo kailan nila papadala ung visa ko after submitting the docs lets say bukas sbumit ko then how long in ur estimate na makukuha ko ung visa ko? napaparanoid na naman ako lol…. thanks
Hi charmie! I think we have the same case except for the difference in the needed document….Nkaka paranoid tlga…Ask ko lang pala did you pay anything to AIR 21? They just got kasi the delivery form na binigay sa akin and also what I have with me which they gave was my passport, the paper with the needed documents checked and the stapled white paper (with the instructions in english and tagalog) and blue paper (which i have to fill out once nasa akin na ung needed document) Un lang ba? Ay naku I hope to get the document this week….and sana bukas na din..Keep me updated ha if you don’t mind…we’re on the same boat kasi e..Thanks to you and ting!
Hi Ms ting! i had my interview today for the IR 1 visa….the consul told me “your visa application has been approved because all the paper are good. There’s just one more thing that I need and that is an NBI clearance of your other name. Once we get that, we would mail you the visa in 7 days” You see ting, i had a correction of my NSO birth certificate. My name was erroneously typed from MITCHEL and I had it changed it to MICHELLE. I could get the NBI clearance but I’m kind of worried with regards to as to when they would mail the visa. I hold on to the consul’s words that I was already approved and they’re just waiting for that. My question is, I didn’t pay air 21 for the shipment, I just returned the delivery sheet that I filled up to them. How am I going to pay for the courier fee? Is there any way I could track the visa and my passport if they’ve already sent it or not? I think I have the same case as Ms charmie except for the difference in the needed documents…
thank you so much again for ur help.
Hi mish,
were kinda the same yes ganon din ung sakin kasi di din ako nagbayad ng air21 instead they just give me a paper and give it to air21 and air21 told me CDO means i will pay it cash on delivery once the visa is ready, soo same di ba? and the documents NBI din sakin using my husband surname, which is TAYLOR. then my childs b.c don ako medyo natagalan kasi walang record ung anak ko soo i filed late registration and thank god im done with that nakiusap ako sa civil registrar na badly need ko yon.. then sa monday and kuha ng advanced endorsement.. soo i have my daugthers secpa b.c and submit it tomorow, ready na i hope it will go smoothly dont worry same tayo mish, by the way ill go there tomorow how about u? sana kita tayo don at 1 pm to 2 pm…ung tungkol naman sa interview ko sa tingin ko approved naman ako kasi.. sabi ng consul is like this…. seems ur papers are all ok, tell ur husband that he dont need to worry everything is fine, we just need 2 things from u just 2 things .. ur nbi using this name taylor and ur childs b.c then i gone to window 37 and give me a white paper and white with blue paper stapled together and the air21 paper and give it there to booth then advise me to pay it on delivery day… thats all mish kita tayo bukas get ur NBI in morning heres my number..09202622239 see u there….
oh by the way, thanks for the info.=) ill text u tomorrow if ever punta ako…=)
Mish, by the way ung air 21 text me after my interview they gave me a tracking number, soo once nasubmit ung docs . i can track my case number maybe u got the same.. nag text ba sayo ung air21 and gave u a tracking number? kasi sakin mayron ako tracking number once ur docs is there u will know when their going to deliver the visa by tracking…
hi charmie…yup once i get the nbi sa morning i’ll submit it immediately…with regards to the tracking number wala silang binigay sa akin…ayan napraning na naman ako…hahahah will talk to them nalang tomorrow if ever
hi mish,
ung tracking number air21 will text u and give u the tracking number u mean walang nag text sayong air 21? kasi as far as i know mag ttext sila sa applicant if there are soe docs needed pa unlike ng on the spot approved their just pay at the air21 both
hi charmie, they didn’t text me however when I submitted my nbi kanina i approached the booth and asked if I have one..they gave it to me naman…which is a relief on my part =) anyways, i was supposed to text u kanina kaso dumating ako just in a nick of time magcclose na sila mga 1:55 cguro…kya nagmamadali ako…was supposed to text u after i submitted my NBI clearance and passport kaso mali ung nakopya kong cp number na sinabi mo…kulang ng 1 number…..Sad to hear na hindi mo na naman naabutan ung embassy. Cheer up! at least kinuha na passport and to follow nalang ung NBI…thanks so much ha for the info about the air 21 tracking. and by the way magkasunod lang pala tau dumating kanina…ako kasi ung last tlga na na-entertain kanina sa mga nagsubmit e….bukas ok ka na lahat nyan…God bless!
Hi TING
hay naku ting nakakainis talaga lm mo ba di ko napansin ung nbi ko na name is like this… CHARME ehh kulang ng i san name ko which is CHARMIE soo sabi nila get another one with i sus hinabol ko na naman ung oras takbo me nbi sandali ko lang nakuha then assual late na din para sa embassy almost 2 pm na din so tomrowo nalang ulit kakayamot!!! soo tomorow wala ng lusot to… well ting they took my passport and my dauther b.c then just to follow the nbi tomorow i hope matapos na din to hirap talaga mag ayos ng papers …..sa tingin mo ting ok na ba yon? kasi they took my passport ehh?…thank you
Hi Charmie,
You will be fine. Congrats!
hi ms ting.. we went last monday sa embassy too bad wala cla pasok,,kainis so i went back the ff day. i have submitted my additional requirement and have asked if there’s a fastest way i can get my visa and she asked me y and i told her that im attending sana on my nephew’s wedding. i told her if i can just pick up my visa instead of mailing but they only allow pick ups on emergency basis. she even asked me whats my participation in the wedding and i told her that im just a guest. i can make a letter daw that states my reason y i wanted to pick up my visa and that it is still subject for approval. so i did not insisted at all and accepted the fact that i cant attend to the wedding,,hahha
Hi mish nandon na ko ng 12 45 but really tomakbo ako sa nbi soo by tomorow ma submit ko na ano naman sabi sayo ng taga embassy after u submit ur nbi?
hi charmie, mejo nangulit ako dun sa kumuha ng nbi ko…i asked since they didn’t give me anyting after that kung ok na ba..sabi oo. 2nd question, how long will i get the visa. Ans: after daw mapakita and ok na daw they’ll mail it na…3rd question: pwede bang umabot ng 1 month? Ans: hindi naman daw….I was hoping sana agad ko makuha ung visa kasi anniv namin ng hubby ko on Aug 20 so I really hope to get it way before that date =)
hi ting,
na-cancel ang flight ko last july.28 kc ngkaproblema kmi s itinerary ng baby nmin ala xa kc name dun so my new flight schedule will be on august.13 at 9am via japan airlines then straight to washington n un ting, i just have one question and it really confusing me right now and its about the baggage, they said one person allowed to bring 2 piece of 23 kgs or 50 lbs of baggage ( means 46 kgs or 100 lbs each passenger) going to states but my problem is ung suitcase ko aabot xa ng 35 kgs pero isa lang ang dala ko pgalis which is un lang ang para sakin, then s daughter ko isang suitcase lang din at 25 kgs nman ung s kanya, do u think it is ok with the airlines kung ganun ung baggage nmin? i mean instead of bringing 2 suitcase 23 kgs each im just gonna bring 1 but 35 kgs nman xa, ok kya ung ganun? baka kc mg-excess baggage aq kung sakaling d ko sundin ang rules nila n dapat 23 kgs each baggage ei, i can’t just bring 2 suitcase just for me cuz i have a little baby 7 months old then ung suitcase p ng 5 years old ko n daughter..somebody advice me pwede daw ung company baggage pero d ko p kc nasubukan ung ganun ei…
ting can u share with me what u did during ur flight? esp. about the baggage thing… i really need to know this so i dont have to pay extra money at the airport kc dba my babayaran p din aq s airport so its wasting alot of money p rin…

based in my experienced as a k3 also, i submitt all original copy not just only a copy cuz even in the checklist for the k3 visa that u need to bring for the interview, they said that they need an original..its better for u if u submitt the original cuz thats what i did and i just follow what they want me to bring so no hassle at all during my interview and aside from that u must bring everything what u can bring, if the checklist said that u need a police clearance, u should bring some..during my interview i brought all evidence and all documents that they might suppose to ask me thats why on that day of my interview they did’nt ask me too much documents or evidence cuz i had everything in my hand,…but u know what it is depend to the pre-screener and CO what documents they want from u to submitt so just make sure u have everything..about s NVC my husband sent all my original paperworks too…
ting..
hope u can answer my question whenever u have time…..pls….miss talking to u ting…
hi again.. i went to the hospital awhile ago and magpapashot sana ko ng 2nd vaccine ko for hpv pero sabi nila 2 kinds daw ung hpv..how will i know what type ung ininject sa kin?help please…and one more thing, varicella ba 2 shots lang? thanks
ate ting ano ba ang kaibahan sa 1-130 and 1-129f at ano then ung k3 at k4 and k1.pls tell me ate ting.
nagugulhuhan ako habang nagbabasa ako dito.hindi masyad naintindihan.
Hi ting,
ms ting bakit di ka na sumasagot? miss ka na namin sa lahat ng mga answers mo, i hope u reply soon, are u busy this past few days i was always here to wait for ur responce hope to hear u soon ting… miss u sorry kung may nagawa akong foul dito sa blogs mo.. di na mauulit thank you
Hi All,
Sorry nawala ako. Sige. I’ll reply na.
Liz,
If you go for K-1 or fiancee visa, you file I-129F only with US$455.00 fee.
If you are married and want to file for K-3, then you file I-130 first (US$355.00 fee) , then I-129F (no fee) as soon as you receive the Notice Of Action of your I-130 petition. The I-130 petition will be a requirement when you adjust your status to legal permanent resident once you arrive in the US.
K-4 is a derivative visa for K-3, In short, if you have a child, he/she is automatically eligible to apply for K-4 visa.
K-2 is a derivative visa for K-1, In short, if you have a child he/she is automatically eligible to apply for K-2 visa.
Charmie,
No problem. Anybody can reply to somebody’s query.
Is it not a guarantee that they will issue your visa the same or next business day that you submitted the lacking document. The embassy has to thouroughly assessed all of your document in order to adjudicate your case. For some, it usually takes 2 weeks from submision. If you are lucky, it could take lesser than that.
Taking your passport is a good thing. Looks like, America is smiling upon you.
Mish,
Do not worry if you did not pay Air21. You call pay collect when they deliver the visa in your house. Just make sure to have cash (around 300 pesos) in your wallet all the time.
Ashley,
It is really best to call or surf each airline company in your itinerary. These arlines could differ from each other. Honestly, don’t bring too much stuff here in the US, especially that you are travelling with a kid. Besides, youcan buy cheap stuffs here in the US..I mean, clothing.
Rudylyn,
If you have an NBI Clearance, there is NO NEED to get Police Clearance. You will only get police clearance if you lived and worked outside the country. And you need to get it to the foreign country were you lived or worked.
Ashley is correct. You need to bring the original or the certified copy of the documents that you submitted along with your I-130 and I-129F petitions. This is one of the reasons on why the interview is held…to validate the authenticity of the documents submitted.
K-3 visa ka no…same as mine. Here are the documents that you need to bring during the interview.
-Proof of payment (visa applcation fee of U$$131.00)
-2 copies of DS-156, originally signed and dated by beneficiary. Here is the link to the form DS-156.
-2 copies of DS-157, originally signed and dated by beneficiary. Here is the link to the form DS-157.
-certified copy of BC, issued by NSO
-certified copy of CENOMAR (even if married) issued by NSO
-certified copy of Marriage Certificate issued by NSO
-divorce decree of US petitioner if previously married
-NBI clearance of beneficiary
-I-134 affidavit of support, originally signed by US petitioner. Your husband has to FedEx this to you ASAP.
- US petitioner’s pay stubs, tax return for 2-3 years, employment leterr, etc.
-2 x visa photos
-proof of relation (photos, cards, money transfer receipts, emails, chat logs, etc).
-police clearance issued by foreign country where beneficary lived or worked for more than 6 mos.
By the way, do you have a kid (K-4) going with you?
For the detailed list, check this embassy link.
Hi Kayenne,
Did you bring your immunization record (the one given by SLEC at the end of the med exam) to the hospital? If not, you should. From that document, they should know what kind of HPV you need.
Take note — Human papillomavirus vaccine should be given to females 11 through 26 years of age.
Yes, varicella is only 2 shots.
hi ting
thank you sumagot ka na…. now im just waiting for my visa to come along.. and i have the tracking number that air21 gave me …im hoping and praying na sana dumating na acctually nung last thursday ko lang napasa ung docs na kulang soo maybe it will take more days.. and hope wont get long.. thank you ting for ur reply..
hello ting, yes i brought the form though its not indicated what type of hpv vaccine. anyway i have called the slec and have said that it is CERVARIX..I have also asked the doctor if i can buy my third shot but she said that its not advisable to travel the vaccine bec there’s a certain temp. needs to be maintained.
one more question, in my vaccination documentation sheet, it says that i need one more vaccine “TD” but i need to get in the US na,,did you have that in US?
hi ting,
ask ko lang sana cuz im just curious about something,..ung tungkol s vaccination s slec, ang naka-circle dun s form n binigay nila sakin after the medical ei ung TD lang din n makukuha ko lang daw jan s states pg ng file n aq ng AOS, but at that time during the medical ang natandaan ko lang n binigay nila sakin is ung para s cervical cancer then meron pang dalawa pero nakalimutan ko n kung ano klase un…bale 3 vaccination un binigay nila sakin, so pano ung pg ng file n kmi ng AOS at pinakita ko n ang form n binigay sakin ng slec s civil surgeon, malalaman b ng surgeon kung ano p ang kulang ko n vaccination or sasabihin b nya sakin kung my kulang p aq o wala n? dba i have to get my TD shot first khit cguro s base nalang kc army nman c hubby, but after that i need to go to the surgeon to show them the form and the proof that im done with the TD shot, so pano un ting after b n maipakita ko un s surgeon xa n din b ang bahalang mgsabi sakin kung my kulang p b aq n vaccination khit nakuha ko n ang TD shot n un? and kung my kulang p nga aq sakali man, do i need to do another whole medical examination? or just the vaccination only?…ting hope u can teach me how u made it para my idea n aq bago kmi lumipad s 13 kc mg file n kmi kagad as soon as my hubby get a chance, kung pano gagawin nmin……cuz medyo naguguluhan n nman aq grabe kala ko kc tapos n ang pgiisip…hehehe..lol..!! thanks in advance and godbless!!!
Charmie,
You’re welcome. I hope, you will have your visa soon.
Kayenne,
That’s good news. Yes, you will have your TD here in the US. It usually cost at about US$35.00-40.00/shot. Get it in your local health clinic so it will be cheaper. If you go to the doctor, it is very expensive….usually about 30-40 bucks more. Just do not forget to acquire the document that will prove that you had it in the clinic. Then you go back to the civil surgeon’s clinic, and present the document. Then, the surgeon will sign your I-693 or vaccination supplement form and enclosed it in a SEALED envelop. Do not open this enevelop. You submit it to USCIS as is.
Ashley,
Here is my suggestion…
Before you submit your AOS packet, you go to the USCIS designated civil surgeon so he can make an assessment of what vacccines that you are still lacking. When you have the list, tell him that you will have the lacking vaccines administer in the local health center –bring the form SLEC gave you. Once you have done it, go back to the designated civil suregin and present the document that will show that you indeed have it at the health clinic. From this, he will then sign the I-693 form which should be included in your AOS packet. Take note, if you are on a K-1 or K-3 visa and has done your full medical center in SLEC in less than a year from your AOS filing, you DO NOT need the full medical exam, but ONLY the VACCINATION SUPPLEMENT form, signed by the the surgeon.
miss ting share ko lang regarding the vaccine td…coz it is the vaccine i needed ( actually the doctor in slec advised me to get it here) for my requirement for my AOS interview…i went to a designated/authorized doctor of the uscis…nd i told the receptionist that i needed the td vaccine….i also showed them the vaccine worksheet given by the slec…the receptionist told me that i dont need the td since i was given tdap which is a combination of td and another 1….td will be given after 10 years as a booster…so ganun yung nangyari …i paid 35 dollars just for the documentation (form163 signed by the doctor in a sealed envelope)
but its ok…at least minus one requirement na
Hi Gie,
This is a new info for me. Thanks for sharing.
hi ting ask lang ako bout sa AOS kung online mo ba pinadala or through mail? and wehn mo ba e popost ung AOS experienced mo? tanx
hi ting,
so meaning to say i need to go to the designated uscis civil surgeon first to find out if im missing or lacking shot/vaccination including the td shot and i need to bring the form that slec gave it to me after the medical and show to the civil surgeon, then after that i can get my vaccination to the local health center or maybe in the health center onpost (army-base), then after i finish my vaccination with the health center, i need to go back to civil surgeon again to show them the proof that i got my vaccination complete and then they gonna sign the form for me and put it to the envelop then seal it? and thats the time i can file my AOS together with the medical form?
Yes, Ashley.
miss ting actually i was really dissappointed kc they just copied the result from the vaccination worksheet….they jas transfer the result, signed and put it in a sealed envelope…feeling ko the vaccination worksheet given by slec will suffice na but to make sure ginawa ko na lang para walang hassle…
ashley ako when i filed my aos i have a checklist ng mga hinihingi na documents and 1 of them is the vaccination since im a k-1 so pinass ko lang yung binigay ng slec…tapos after 2 weeks i received my notice of action for my scheduled interview and binigay nila yung mga requirements na dapat dalhin sa interview…kasama dun yun medical exam in a sealed envelope but since k1 ako vaccination na lang ang dillema ko kc is yung binigay na vaccination worksheet ng slec hindi nakaseal sa envelope kya nagpunta pa rin me sa civil surgeon for the documentation…
Hi Gie,
That’s right. The vaccination record that you will enclose in the AOS packet is different from the document SLEC gace you. It is just a matter of transfering the data from SLEC doc to USCIS doc, which is signed by the civil surgeon.
hi gie,
so meaning to say d u pinasa along with ur AOS nung ng file k ang medical result/ vaccination record mo from the civil surgeon? i mean ung transfer form mo ng vaccination n naka sealed from a civil surgeon? kaya b dadalahin u nalang xa s interview mo? cge salamat din s info ha and goodluck s interview mo…
Hi Gie,
Do not worry to much if you have not sumitted the right vaccination form with your AOS. If USCIS will need it, they will issue an RFE. Or if they will not send you an RFE, make sure to have it DURING your interview. No worries.
hi ting,,
salamat s suggestion and advice ha,,,basta cge i keep u posted nalang din as soon as i file my AOS kc baka meron p din aq itanong sau sakali ei or maybe i can send u an email….and one thing before i forgot sana u can also put the outcome of ur interview for the AOS too para makakuha din aq ng idea sau…
thanks alot ting and more power to ur site, godbless!!
Hi Ash,
My interview is already next week. Kaya medro missing in action ako dito sa blog for the past days or weeks kaya. LOL!
Hi Ash,
I will. Thank you.
ms ting, will they inform you if something is wrong with the document you submitted? or if they need other documents? in my case, all they asked from me is the nbi clearance and they took my passport when i submitted the document…if something is amiss they wouldn’t have taken the passport right? =) i was reading the previous comments and some applicants for CR1 visa needed cenomar…btw i applied for IR1 kaya lang medyo concerned din ako hehehhe..the waiting time is killing me…
Hi MIsh,
Yes, they will inform you the lacking necessary docs. If your passport is not returned (to you) , that’s a very good sign. Also, IR-1 needs the CENOMAR. CR-1 and IR-1 are basically the same kind of visa. The only thing is CR-1 is for couple who are married less than 2 years, and the IR-1 is for couples who are married 2+ years.
hi ms ting..good day!!!just wanna ask regarding this seminar cause im just applying for a passport and one of the requirements is the CFO seminar so im planning to go to cebu next week but im still confused with the requirements for the divorce papers of my husband does it need to be original or a photocopy can be cause he just scan it and ill just have it printed…but i dont have my passport as well..can you give me info regarding other requirements cause im from bacolod ..thank you hoping to hear from you as soon as possible…
hi miss ting, i just wanna ask something, kc po my fiancee got mail yesturday and it say’s that our application was approved my name and his name is in there, but ung baby ko wla ung name nia dun pero ngpasa kmi ng birth certificate nia at cnama ng fiacee me cia s petition, ussually pba ung name ng baby hindi nkalagay sa approval notice of action or automatic npo ba un ksama cia sa petition? kc ngpasa kmi ng birth cert nia nun ksama nung skin, under k1 po ako miss ting, in the near future ask po uli ako sayo, hoping for your reply, tnx po.
hello ms ting,
welcome back ulit may tanog lang po ako regarding ng baptismal kailangan ba yan sa isa sa mga requirements ? we just started lang ng mga papers wala pa naman kami natanggap.. gusto lko lang po malaman if necessary kasi yung baptismal ko ayaw ibigay ng certain religion na member ako dati kasi daw wala na ako sa list nila bilang isang member… kasi yung isa kung friend she already pass the interview visa nalang ang hinihintay niya d daw ng ask nag baptismal certificate. do u have any idea ba? please share to me kung ano ang dapat .. thank you in advance sa tulong mo
hi,
FYI, Philippine passport is no longer “green”, they’re issuing “maroon” passport and your name and picture are computerized not handwritten, if you have green passport,it’s the old one.
Very nice site!
Greetings!!!
How are you po? Finally our expedition request was approved yesterday!!! My husband is waiting for the Approval Notice of I-130 today.
I just wanna ask what should we do next and how long will it take? coz I really have to travel at least 1st week of September coz my due date is on 1st week of Oct.
The lawyer, senate office and my OB here helped us a lot to get approved this soon..
Please give me idea on what’s next after receiving the I-130 approval notice and how long before u think the US EMbassy will inform me for the interview?
THANK U SO MUCH!!!
Godbless!

Hello, this site site is really truly helpful. I would like to thank you for making this for us your kabayans. I would like to inquire about the requirements to have the seminar. One of those that you posted is the legal capacity to marry. Where will I get this? Is this the one that is required by the civil registrar to in filing for application for marriage. If this is it i have already submitted this form when we applied for the marriage license. Does my husband need to get one again when this is only given to those who are getting married here and we are already married or is this a requiremnt for those who are getting the seminar that is about to get married yet. Hope you can help in this. Many thanks
laiza
cnu ba nag sputum test d2………kung nareschedule kayo ilang days usually ung tinagal bago yung new appointment date nyu pag katapos makuha result ng sputum???plsssss help me guys
Hello again..
We received thru e-mail that our I-130 was approved AUG.3 and says they already mailed the “instructions” on what to do next. Then..
My husband received the notice (Aug.7) from NVC that they will contact me(beneficiary). They didnt ask for anything, maybe our lawyer sent everything they need from us..I hope! They just said they wil be the one to contact me.
I’m just wondering how long will it take for them to contact me, if they didnt ask for anything ( I think our lawyer and my husband sent the affidavit of support already, I just don’t know about the DS230)..
SO u think the NVC will contact me or the US Embassy already in MAnila? WIll they contact me for interview appointment already? Please let me know what you think is happening in my case..THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Godbless!!!
Hello!! Good Day!
Ms.Ting your blog was very informative that made me so happy.I have few questions myself if you could be so kind.My visa type is CR-1,more likely of K-3.
My worry is that upon going to the interview,I have read that the guards or other embassy attendants check the APPOINTMENT LETTEr,Photo ID,and ITR,Affidavit of support and all.My case was handled by a lawyer,so in short I only have with me my appointment letter,my own documents;NSO copy of MC,BC.I also have NBI,CENOMAR,and copies of ID’s.
So, here it is.Should I still bring with me a copy of my husband’s ITR and AFFIDAVit of support to my interview when it was stated in my appointment letter’s check list that every documents was passed on to NVC already. that i only need to bring my passport and photo ID with my personal documents.I was just worried about the things I read from different blogs, that they are showing different kinds of forms for their pre-screening.Although,I already have a copy of ITR form of my husband, sent to me by his lawyer as per requested by me.tHE ds 230 FORMS AND OTHER FORMS WERE ALREADY SENT TO THE LAWYER WHICH HE FORWARDED TO nvc ALREADY.
I just don’t want to go to an interview and not so sure about the things that i should be bringing aside from my personal documents. Please if you have any idea, do share it with me.This may be petty worries but it counts a lot, especially when i am already in my appointment date,WHICH IS ON AUGUST 18,2009- THIS MONTH.
Any information will be much appreciated.Thank you!
-myles-
hi everyone, mayroon ba d2 under k1 pls help me about the papers needed? after noa2

hi ms. ting,
kanino ko dapat i-address ang letter ko regarding change of mother’s maiden name? middle name kasi niya ang nailagay ko instead of her surname sa G-325A form. nai forward na sa NVC ang papers namin when i found out na mali pala yung nai type ko na maiden name ng mother ko.
thank you and God bless!
hi, my category is cr1, i will have my interview this sept.2,09… I havent attend CFO seminar yet in cebu.. Can i do this after my interview?
hi gie, tnx for the reply, if you dont mind i will ask a few questions again. kc my fiance already paid for nvc, how long b or how many wiks b4 ka mgkaroon ng appointment for medical and interview? kc past 1 wik n after cia nkapgbayad sa nvc, my problem is my baby pasport kc wla p cia pasport then ung birth certificate this coming friday pa nmin mku2ha at dpa rin sure un, and for applying pasport it will take also for 2wiks, do you think makakaabot pa me pra mcomplete lhat ng papers nmin especially sa pasport? and about s medical dba kailangan passport ko at ung baby me? at sa medical b kailangan ksama n ung baby men sa pgpunta s st lukes? at ung immunization record nia kailangan b panotary pa? khit my sign ng pedia nia or no need na? at my problem din kc me about sa medical im in hepa b reactive pero my certificate n me if ever kailangan, and my doktor says im not infectious, and share about your interview experience wat the consul questions, and about medical and about police certificate same lng ba un ng police clearance? im confuse kc, hoping for your reply, tina.

thank you and god bless,
lyn
tina, im not sure about sa payment mo sa nvc kc yung fiance ko (now my husband) di naman sya nagbayad basta nung narecieve nya yung approval notice tinawagan nya ako telling me to collate all the documents necessary…so nagresearch ako about cguro mga 1 month before ko nareciv yung appointment letter ko fro us embassy…once na nareciv mo na yung appointment letter mo you can schedule your interview sa embassy….ako after 2 weeks ng medical ako nagpasched…about sa baby mo im not sure dun sa question mo….about sa hepa b mo kung di naman sya infectious then i don;t see any problem…yung police cert is same sa police clearance kaya lang hinihingi yun kung tumira ka outside phils or sa ibang bansa for ilang months (check the website) pero kung d2 ka lang sa pinas tumira all your life nbi clearance wil suffice pero pwede ka din kumuha ng police clearance para pag inaasak ka may maipapakita ka…pero sa akin di na yun hiningi…about sa interview basic question how u met ur fiance…ilang beses ka nya vinisit…anung work nya??? anung time difference nyo (tinanong sa akin e2) kung may asawa ka/kung may asawa sya/ anak…basta yung ganun…madali lang just be yourself…be honest…sagutin mo lang yung tanong nila u don’t nid to explain unless asked…don’t forget to get your cenomar or if ung fiance mo tumira ng pinas for ilang years kuha mo din sya ng cenomar kc yung fiance ko was born here tapos lumaki sa pinas tapos nagkaroon pa sya ng kids out of wedlock so hiningan ako ng cenomar nya…eh wala me napresent nung time na interview ko
kayenneand charmie….i know the feeling na waiting for a long time…ako after 2 weeks k nasubmit yung additional requirement nareciv ko na yung visa ko…so don’t be upset…to kayene try to monitor your visa sa air 21 kc malalaman mo kung may naforward na sa kanila ang embassy…to charmie san ka kumuha ng cenomar…sana sa main office sa qc kc 1 week lang daw dun makukuha na…ako mga 2 weeks pa hinintay ko to get the cenomar…
hi gie

salamat gie eventhough i dont see you and dont know you yet, im sure i can get some idea and advices from you about this kind of processing, god bless to your family. tina
hi miss ting tnx po sa blog nio it hepls alot for us, sori po im asking sa iba, and bussy po yata kau. tina.
gie addition to that questions above about the b.c kc nung ngfile kmi petition ung b.c nmin ng baby ko eh hindi original scan lng me and send me s knya. and last question kc 1time lng cia umuwi d2 then dna cia mkakauwi wait nlang nia kmi dun ng baby ko, do you think 1 time visit is enough for the consul? and may i ask you ung husband u ba how many times cia umuwi d2? tina
hi tina about sa bc ng fiance mo iprepare mo lang at least kapag hiningi may iprepare ka…about sa bonafide relationship evidence lam mo konti lang yung pics namin cguro mga tatlo lang tapos da rest is yung sulat nya sa akin..walang problem kung 1 beses lang kayo nagkita ang mahalaga maestablish mo na genuine yung relationship…kc yung fiance ko once lang nagpunta dito to visit me but we’ve known each other nung highschool kami…basta ang mahalaga maestablish mo sa consul na genuine yung love nyo for each other…
hi ting! thanks… Your blog is really informative..when I say blog…I mean your entire blog not only the Q and A portion….I got my visa na after a looong wait (d naman tlga long pero mga 2 weeks nga)…God bless u and ur family =)

Thnaks, Tina.
Hi ting,
I just recieved forwarded email from my fiance regarding NAO2 noticed of approval. Anong sunod namin gawin since hindi pa nakakausap and atty na nahire niya.
Nung nagfill up siya ng I-129F he put checked if he was arrested. He was arrested kc ng away sila ng ex -wife niya… pero wala naman siyang records from court and police. Since NOA2 was grant, hanapin kaya ang records na yun sakin on my interview? Worry lang ako baka magset ako ng another appointment. Salamat
Luzvie
Hi Luzvie,
Yes, most likely, they will ask for the record of the case. Was he convicted or not? Do you mean to say that the case was never pursue? If you can not really acquire the record (because there is no existing record), I suggest that you ask a letter or certification from the court or police station involved that there is no record is available for it.
Yes, CENOMAR is part of the requirement in K-1. I suggest that you get it just 2-3 weeks before your interview date. The closer to the interview date, the better. Besides, you will get the CENOMAR on the same day that you will request for it, if you personally acquire it in an NSO Office. The online things may take a while.
need ko na din bang kumuha ng CENOMAR ngayon?. thanks
hi ting.
Ask lang po ako kong ilang buwan ba ma aprove ang k3 visa.nag start po ang asawa ko nong july,at nakatangap na kami nag reciept, just curious lang mis ting,sa na mayron kang idea kong ilang buwan paba ang hihintayin,i hope to hear ur reply soon.tnx miss ting.
Hi Joyce,
Usually 6-8 months from filing to interview date. Good luck!
They just said they will be the one to contact me.
I’m just wondering how long will it take for them to contact me, if they didnt ask for anything ( I think our lawyer and my husband sent the affidavit of support already, I just don’t know about the DS230)..(The senate office also informed us that USCIS informed them about the approval notice).
So u think the NVC will contact me or the US Embassy already in Manila? WIll they contact me for interview appointment already? Please let me know what you think is happening in my case..THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Godbless!!!
Hi missy22,
Congrats! This is the usual timeline:
NOA2 to NVC — 1 week
NVC to US Embassy in Manila — 2 weeks
Embassy to send you notice that your case is ready for interview (K-1 or K-3) — 2 weeks
hi gie tina again, ask me sana about sa interview mo, required b tlaga ang educational background for k1 visa? kc my problem me dian wla kc me na certification or diploma or id’s time ng elementary me and high kc natangay lhat ng baha smin, pero nung college my certification me n nggraduate me, then my fiance ask din nia skin about that,so ang ginawa ko nalang ngtype nlang me kung when, where me ngstart ng elementary till college, do you think ok na un ? or will gonna be problem for me?
tnx. tina
hi miss ting sna rin po mreply nio ko about this kung my idea kau, tnx.tina
Hi Tina,
They will not require your diploma during the interview. However, it is part of the info of the form that you need to fill up.
Yeah, just remember when the year you attend your school. Educational background has no bearing in K-1, K-3 or any relative-based petitions.
hmm di naman sya tinanong or di naman nag aask ng any documents ah tinanong ako kung college graduate ako nd wat course and wt school…kc yung mga info na yan isusulat mo dun sa isang form eh..but hindi naman sila humingi ng any docs
hi gie, tnx for the reply that would be a peace of mind for me. about s pds form sheet for medical ,nba mga questions dun para fill up ?kc bka mconfuse me for filling the form eh ayokong mgkamali about sa fiance bka kc ask information, and ussually ano ung mga information sa pds about sa fiance?
tnx, tina. god bless!
Hi Tina,
Do not worry to much on the PDOS seminar. It will not affect your visa application. All they do at the seminar is to make sure that you are ready to go and aware of your decision, most especially the cons of marrying a foreigner. They will ask your personal stuffs…like where and when you meet…those kind of things.
helo mam ting,
Hi Rudylyn,
As far as I know, the visa fee can not be refunded for whatever reason. But you know what, give it a try. Call the embassy hotline and explain your case.
please mam ting.

hi miss ting ask ko lng po sana kung ung nku2ha n birth certificate from NSO IS CERTIFIED COPY PO LAHAT?
TNX , TINA
HI GIE SNA MSAGOT MO DIN QUESTION KO, TNX. TINA
Hi Tina,
Yes, certified copy lahat.
HI Tina,
Certified siya kung nasa NSO security paper na siya.
tina basta sa nso office ka pumunta certified true yun…makikita naman yun sa paper eh…anyways the embassy may verify it with the nso if certified yung docs na sinubmit mo…
Thanks po Ms.Ting!!! We are just so disappointed coz my husband asked for Congressman’s help but the Congressman told him that NVC informed him that OUR CASE wasn’t received from USCIS yet. Its been 15 days!!! SO the Congressman said he can’t help us to expedite the schedule of interview unless the NVC received OUR CASE already..
I guess I would really give birth here in Phils., my husband is so depress right now..He keeps calling the customer service for USCIS (they forwarded the case to NVC). When he called NVC it says they dont have OUR CASE yet. Too bad..
We don’t know how much longer we should wait for the NVC to receive our case from USCIS (approved AUg.3,2009)..hay…
THANK YOU PO..Godbless!!!
hi po mis ting, tnx po s reply, ask po sna me uli kung ung record ng baby me s injected nia sa pedia nia eh kailangan pba panotary khit may sign cia ng pedia nia? o ung mismo nlang pong record nia ang ipakita me sa medical? at kailangan pba kasama n agad ung baby me for first day or second day of medical? at about po sa birth certificate kc po humingi ung agency po sa fiance me ng bc nmin ng baby ko, then pnadala kna po sa fedex im just wondering lang po kung kailangan kpa po uli ng bc nmin uli ng baby me o un npo un? do you think pba agency n mgfoforward ng papers nmin d2 s manila embassy? and ung appointment letter po do you think pba agency nrin kontakin dun then forward nlang po skin? cencia po dmi me questions. tnx po mis ting.
hi gie tnx for the reply nxt time uli, kung my idea k about questions me again pls share, tina
Hi Tina,
No need to notarized, as long as the doctor or anybody who adminsitered it signed the form. The baby needs to go with you in both days. She will also have her medical exam. You can bring somebody to help you take care of the baby inside SLEC. Of course, you will need a certified copy of your child’s BC in the interview , if this is what you mean. During the interview, you need to bring the required documents, which the agency can not provide. Do you already have a copy of this list? No, the embassy will contact you for the interview and not the agency.
helo mam ting
Hi Rudylyn,
CR-1 is an immigrant cisa. You will receive your Greencard a few weeks after you arrive here in the US. K-3 is a non-immigrant visa. You need to apply for adjustment when you arrive here in the US to get your Greencard. CR-1 is better the K-3, if you talk about the convenience.

Hi miss Ting,
Yun bang Bank statement ng fiance ko, and tax declaration, kailangan bang sakin niya direct na isend or need muna niya isend sa atty? Or embassy and magsend sakin para madla ko sa interview? thanks
Hi luzvie,
It should be attached with the affidavit of support. He needs it to fill up your petitioner’s affidavit form. You need to personally bring it during your interview.
Ms. Ting,
After we received the NOA2, what will be the next thing we will prepare.. Thank You for the time & good day po..CR1 visa category po kami..

Hello Again Ms. Ting..
COngrats!!!
Aug. 19 po na-assign na case number sa NVC..finally!!!
We also requested for an early interview appointment..so hopefully its will be SOON.
Ask ko lang po about dun DS 230, d naman po kc ma-save kapagna-encode na information, for printing lang tlga..Do u think it’s better if I’ll let my husband do it for me and so he can send it thru POST MAIL sa NVC so our case can be complete? I thought thru e-mail pwede kc yung DS 230, hindi pala
How long willl it take po ba for NVC to forward the complete case sa US Embassy Manila? And yung Affidavit of support meron na po na-submit kasama sa mga documents namin, kelangan pa din po ba ulit pay $70 for Affidavit of SUpport?
Im on my 33 weeks gestation..so hopefully makahabol pa po since some airlines does not have restrictions for traveling pregnant women..THANKS A LOT!!!
COngrats po again…TC

Hi Maria,
Yes, you need to pay 2 x $131.00 for you (K-2) and your son (K-2). Also, you need to complete a separate DS forms for your son too.
My daughter has no middle name too in her BC, passport and visa. It’s fine naman.

Hi Tina,
You can call the embassy for your interview na. As long as you know your passport number, issuance date, and expiration date, pwede ka na tumawag sa kanila. Besides, your interview will likely be more than a month seguro.
and mgkano po ba ang payment for medical for me, and for my baby she is turning 4yrs old? and how can i pay this mismo sa SLEC npo ba? cencia n mrami me question wag sna kau mkulitan skin, im excited kc to be with my hon,and i pray wla kmi ng baby me mging problem in medical, plssssss help
Hi Tina,
The medical exam fee for adults is $213.35 and for kids, it is $185.35. Convert this to peso, since they will accept only in peso denomination. You will pay it at SLEC’s cashier located at the 5th floor of the building. Here’s more detail:
——————–
Medical Examination Fee:
St. Luke’s Medical Center Extension Clinic (SLMCEC), the Embassy’s accredited medical facility, charged U.S. $213.35 for adults (15 years and older) and U.S. $185.35 for children (under 15 years of age) for the medical examination fee.
SLMCEC does not accept credit card or dollar payments. The fees must be paid in Philippine pesos at the prevailing exchange rate.
If you missed your visa interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Manila because of additional medical tests, SLMCEC will schedule your embassy interview appointment within the next two working days. SLMCEC will give you an appointment slip which you should bring together with your original appointment letter to facilitate entry into the U.S. Embassy in Manila.
hello..thanks for the info..
We got the approval of K3/K4 (which we think is FASTER).
I’m working on the non-immigrant forms na po..
We don’t have PLDT line here in our province..U think my husband can make an appointment for me by 1st week Sept.?
We really are rushing the process coz some airlines have restrictions on traveling pregnant women.
from today..do you think we can travel after about 2 weeks?
thank you so much..Godbless!!!
Hi Miss Ting,
I find you’re such a nice person!
Keep it up!
God sees what good deeds you are doing. For sure HE will reward you on this.
I trully believe on this, ”WHAT YOU SOW IS WHAT YOU REAP”
God bless you more abundantly!!
Hi Miss ting,
Alin ba yung NOA2? naguguluhan kase kami ng fiance ko. Yun ba yung noticed of approval from USCIS? Maghihintay ba kami ng mail from NVC or tatawag kami for case #? thanks
Hi luzvie,
Yes, NOA2 is the approval notice from USCIS. Sorry for the confusion. Just wait for a letter from NVC (sent to your fiance) and from the embassy (sent to you). You can also call or email NVC, so you do not have to wait for the actual letter to come in the mail to know your MNL case number.
helo erahfe.
praise God na iya ko gi gayran didto.ug ang amerikan consult gamay ra iya ask nko.ask sya na what job ako bana tapos ask sya what kind of job sinagot ko sya.then ask ra sya alam bang mgatagalog ang asawa ko.dont worry erahfe basta manlig ka lang sa Dios hindi ka nya pabayaan.Be strong.

hi po miss ting again, sna po my idea kau sa ibang questions ko above? at about po sa passport pede nrin pba me mgmedical with my baby w/o our passport? gusto k lang po mclear, tnx po sa reply, sna po masagot nio pa ko. pls
Hi Tina,
The passport is a requirement for the medical exam, because SLEC will have to stamp something in one of the pages. When is your interview again? The medical exam can be done a week before the interview, and it should be no problem.
Once again Miss ting thank u for ur kindness i just have question is (K1) visa is the same with (K2) visa? Because our visa is K1 and not K2..hope u dont mind. One thing Miss ting my fiance set an appointment for interview on September 9 is it means that i can bring my son with me on the same date?Or should we call them again?Im realy sorry but its so confusing..Thank u and God Bless!!!
Maria
Hi Maria,
K-1 is your type of visa (the fiancee). If you have children applying for visa too, it’s automatically K-2 type for them. Basically, K-2 visa is solely dependent on the status of the K-1 visa (principal applicant). If the K-1 visa is approved, K-2 is automatically approved, as long as you provide the required document, especially proof that you are their biological mother, during the interview.
It is automatic too that your interview date is also their interview date. No need to call the embassy for another appointment. Yes, you need to bring them at the interview. Also, pay a separate visa fee for them. Hence, you will be paying $131.00 for you (K-1) and another $131.00 for each child (K-2) . Also, they need to undergo the med exam like you. When appoved, they can come togther with you in the US or they can follow. Visa validity is 6 mos.
HI JHO..
YES..MY HUSBAND FILED i-129f FOR K3/K4 (DONE BY OUR HIRED IMMIGRATION LAWYER) RIGHT AFTER WE RECEIVED THE FIRST NOTICE OF i-130.
THE USCIS APPROVED OUR K3 IN EXACTLY 90 DAYS..THE GOOD THING IS WE CAN SCHEDULE OUR INTERVIEW.
WE WERE ALSO APPROVED OF i-130 BUT I THINK IT’S BIT DELAYED COZ WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR THEM TO SCHEDULE OUR INTERVIEW..
SO SINCE OUR i-129f AND i-130 ARE BOTH APPROVED, WE DECIDED TO TAKE THE i-129F (K3/K4) SINCE IT’S A LOT FASTER PO THAN i-130 (cr-1)..
MY HUSBAND WILL CALL ON MONDAY TO ASK FOR MY SCHEDULE AND SO I CAN HAVE MY INTERVIEW..
GOODLUCK TO EVERYONE!!!
hello Ting, I’m back i wrote you a month ago.I stated about the documents to bring for my interview, but i carelessly brought with me my CENOMAR at the interview date, last august 18.I thought maybe i will not need it cause i have my marriage cert with me to show. From my checklist, there was no CENOMAR or marriage index indicated so i took it for granted. The interview went well at first, but the consul finally looked for my CENOMAR and since i couldn’t show him,he checked my documents again,he gave back my pictures and other evidences. Then he told me he’ll give me a chance to submit the CENOMAR,that he has no other issues regarding my other documents,i took it as a window of hope,he was like assuring me that he needed the CENOMAR only.
So, when i went to window 17,the filipino guy gave me back my passport and a blue and white form.
BLUE form- it is a form to fill up for my information that a checklist for the documents that i’ll be submitting,in short it’s for me to fill it up.
White form-My name was written and my visa symbol which is CR1,the hand writing of the consul printing the word CENOMAR as the document needed for them to continue processing my visa immigration application.
the filipino guy gave me back my passport and check the PART OF what to do next: SUBMISSION OF THE REQUIRED DOCUMENT(s0),then the consul’s signature.
I will be submitting the CENOMAR exactly a week from my interview.I will fly to manila this week.
Questions:
1.After submitting the document, will there be another interview?
2.IS there an assurance that i can be approved?
3.If they will take my passport from me,would it be an assurance that my visa will be processed this time?
I am really worried,i might be denied just cause of the lacking document, but the marriage index I got from NSO was positive that i really married only my husband that i’m married only once with the same man.If the issue is about it ,will it be a ground for denial?
My husband is very much positive as well as our lawyer but, since I don’t know exactly what will happen i cnt help but worry.I have read few cases like mine here in ur blog, but thoughts coming from you will mean a lot to me.
I wish you’ll take time to read my concern.Thank you!you have been a great help to all of us.
God bless!!
Hi seamyles,
Sorry to hear about your interview. Anyway, see my reply below:
1. No more.
2. As you stated, the consul said that your case is good, but you only lack the CENOMAR. Looks like, you are fine.
3.Getting your passport is a good sign, but it does not guarantee that your visa will be issued in the same week you submitted the CENOMAR to the embassy. It can be issued in 2-4 weeks time. Just be patient.
As long as you are “real”, there is nothing to worry. Think like your husband, be positive. Your case is fine. You will be coming to the US soon. Keep me posted.
Tingting
hi po miss ting, tnx po for another reply, dpa po me ngpasched ng interview kc po sbi fiance me agency dw po mgpasched skin for interview and cla dw po ang mgset ng sched me at ngulat nga po cla kung bkit dumating straight skin kc expected po nla s knila padadala and forward po skin,kc complete po muna ata ung papers ng fiance me dun and ung skin, miss ting do you thinnk po ba mgkakaproblem po me for my medical becoz of my hepa b reactive but not carrier or not infectious? wori po kc me bout medical me, and i will tell them nman po agad s physician right away then pkita po me ung certification and 1 hepatitis profile, do you think din po it will coz for delay ang processing me becoz of my hepa? do you think pba madedelay me ng wiks? sna po my idea kau o you heard something that done this kind of problem of
medical, tnx po talaga miss ting for helping us.tapos dti po kc ngwork me sa japan every 6months last fly kpo eh last 2005 pa, tlaga pba kailangan kumuha police certificate from japan and tlaga pba requirements to? kc nbasa po me s forum 2months po bgo mkakuha nun,and kailangan my request letter po ba from us embassy un b4 ka makuha? my idea rin po sna kau d2, kung san pede kumuha ng mabilisan? tnx po uli. god bless!
Hi Tina,
You can call the embassy to set your interview. You do not have to wait for the agency to do it for you. Perhaps, the reason on why they want to do it because you paid for their services.
As for the hepa b reactive thing, just be upfront about it to the doctor at SLEC. Besides, as long as it is not contagious, you should be fine. Your hepa b reactive will not necessary delay your visa. Here is a great read about this….CLICK HERE.
As for the police certificate in Japan, try to contact the embassy of Japan in Manila. Perhaps they could help you and direct you to the right office. Take note, you only get the police clearance if you have lived there for more than 6 months. Yes, it is a requirement. Do it now, so you will have it during your interview.
Hello Mis.TIng..
I just wanna ask po if u think it’s possible for us to have an interview by 1st week Sept.? We will be the one to set a schedule and they will tell us if it’s possible or not, right po?
After the interview, if I will be apporved, how long will it take to receive the visa (Im planning to wait in hotel in Manila since I can’t fly and fly coz I’m 7 mos. pregnant).
OR is it possible for me to ask the consul if when and IF i can just pick it up from US Embassy?
ABout CFO, do u think I can register even before the interview and just ask for the sticker after I received the visa?
Please give me your opinion about this..THANK YOU!!!
Hi missy22,
I can not give you a definite “yes and no”answer. Yes, if you are K-3, you are the one to call the embassy for the appointment date. I suggest that you utilize your lawyer. You paid for their services.
Yes, if approved, you can pick-up your visa at the embassy. The availability? It depends, if they do not need any more assessment and evaluation on your case. If you are OUTRIGHT approved, then give them a week.
As for the CFO registration and sticker, you can only do this when you have your visa. In my case, I went to CFO Manila for my registration and sticker a day before my departure. It went well. It only took about an hour for the whole thing. Mostly, it was the waiting time. If you want you can fill up the form now. Here is the LINK. By the way, do not forget to bring the CFO certificate you got after the seminar. Bring also the seminar certificate, just in case.
Hello Miss Ting,
Talaga bang dapat kasama ko na sa interview kids ko?
What are the requirements for them.? (15 and 18 yo)
How about my son who just turned 20 last May 15?
Pwede ko ba sya makasama?
Thanks
God Bless!!
Hi Jho,
You do not have to bring them, if you want them to just follow you. I did not know that your child is already 20, who is no longer a minor. Bu as long as he is NOT married, he should be fine. Take note that, he can only apply for K-4 if he is under the age of 21 years. Read the info below about this.
Anyway, here is the embassy’s link of FOLLOW-TO-JOIN applicants. Please read it.
———–
K4 Visas for Unmarried Children of Foreign Spouses
The foreign spouse’s unmarried children under the age of 21 can be included in the parent’s petition and receive K4 visas with the same privileges as the parent’s K3 visa. However, if a child is 18 years of age or older at the time of marriage then, although the child can receive a K4 visa and enter the U.S., that child cannot obtain a green card and become a U.S. immigrant. The child’s K4 visa will simply expire after 2 years or when the child reaches the age of 21, whichever occurs first.

Hi missy22,
Thanks for the reply.
Ahh ok, we have the same case, our lawyer did that too.
We will pursue the k3 k4 also.
We just received our 2nd notice last Aug.17
Good luck to you and to all of us here!!
God bless us always!!

Hi Tina,
Ooo, hindi na ako mawawala. Na-busy lang kasi ako sa adjustment of status ko, kaya na missing in action ako for a while. Ngayon, approved na ako wala na akong pinaka-abalahan.
Hi Ms Ting.
when we pay for the k3 k4 visa, we will have to pay for the
I-130 (CR 1 visa) as well? or pag mag AOS pa?
Thanks
God bless!!
Hi Jho,
If you decide to take the CR-1 route, it is a completely different path. Here is the flowchart…http://www.visajourney.com/examples/NVC_Process_Flowchart_v1-2.pdf
Tingting
Yes, you need to have an APPROVED I-130 in order to proceed with CR-1, including your kids.
Hello po..THANK YOU VERY MUCH sa infos..
My husband called the US Embassy today but unfortunately the US Embassy haven’t received my case from NVC yet, so they advised my husband to fax the letter as soon as possible so they can do something about it..We are planning to have an interview appointment by 1st week of September..I hope everything will be ok, so I can go to Manila and start our medical exam before the interview.
I thought po different day ang seminar and registration and sticker stamping..OK lang po pala a-day before departure? Thanks for the info..
By the way, can I ask..how long will it take for the US Embassy to notify me that I can set an appointment with them? (I-129F for K3/K4 was approved Aug.17).We are cofused coz we don’t know how long will it take for them to contact me after my husband fax the letter (to US Embassy Manila) he received from NVC. Is it possible for them to notify me thru e-mail? (I think it would be faster that way)..I’m just waiting for the notice so I can start with medical..
You think po my case will be forwarded to US Embassy Manila within this week? Sayo po how long did it take from NVC to US Embassy Manila?
Thanks for being patient with my inquiries..
Godbless!!!
Hi missy22,
That is a good news!
Yes, the seminar is different from the stamping. Well, you can do it in ONE day. The seminar usually starts at 8.00am (you need to be early in the venue though), and ends at around 2.00pm. So you have 3 hours to process the CFO stamping or sticker at the CFO Office. Remember — the CFO Office is different from the seminar venue. But I strongly suggest that you take the seminar now. You’ll never know what comes along the way –traffic or whatever. You can do this…I remember, you said that you will wait in Manila while your visa will be printed. Within this “waiting period”, you can have your seminar. So once your visa is avalaible, all you have to worry about is the CFO sticker.
Give the embassy 2 weeks from their receipt of the packet from NVC.
JHO..
You are welcome po..
Goodluck!!!
It will take 1.5months at hindi 2-3months.
.Dont forget your Manila case number and passport.
Nagwork din kasi ako sa japan,2x lang.At hahanapin talaga sayo ang police certificate.

Hi rudylyn,
No worries. Just your name, name of USC petitioner, things that you fill out in the forms.
missy share ko lang nung nareciv nung fiance ko yung notice of approval ng petition mga one month ko naman nareciv yung letter from the us embassy manila yung leter telling me that im eligible for the inter view nd i nee to call the 1-800 number to set my interview…i suggest while waiting for the letter frm the embassy collate all the requirements para kapag nareciv mo na yung letter pwede ka na magpamedical nd pwd m na din ipasched yung interview mo basta once na nareciv mo yung letter mo tawag ka na basta iset mo yung interview mo one week after mo magpamedical….
Gie is correct.
As mentioned before…
Transfer of approved case from USCIS to NVC — 1 week
Transfer of case from NVC to embassy — 2 weeks
Embassy to send notice of interview— 2 weeks.
So lahat, mga about a month and 1 week from date of apprival notice.
Hello po Ms. Ting and Gie;
Im just waiting for the original divorce decree and I-134 from my husband (since we only have I-864 when we filed I-130), he is sending it thru fedex para mas mabilis..but I believe I’m all set except for medical, interview and CFO seminar/stamping..
But we are just rushing coz yun nga po almost due na ako..if di po talaga matapos by mid os Sept., we have no choice but to deliver d baby here in Phils.
When my husband called for interview appointment, d embassy said he can just fax the letter so they can try to speed up d process so we can have an interview appointment.
THANKS po again..
Godbless!!!

Hi Ms. Ting,

Kasi iniscan lang ng husb ko so i have now my copy.
Thanks
Hi Jho,
Yes, a copy of the tax forms (W-2 and 1040) is fine.
Hi JHO,
Can I ask? nareceive na ba ng husband mo letter from NVC saying na i-forward na nila sa US Emb.-Mla. within a week yung sa I-129F(k3/K4)?
Until now wala pa din yung case number ko sa US Embassy, Yung notice from NVC with MNL case number sent to my husband was dated Aug.17 so nag-instruct ang US Embassy pagtawag ng huband ko na i-fax na lang yung letter para mas mabilis nila ma-approve interview appoitnment..
Good luck satin..
hi rudylyn,
thanks for the reply taga kansas ako bana matud pa sa lawyer na k3 under cr-1 category if im right .. goodlluck sa imo travel to the US . god bless

Hi JHO,
Eto naiinip na nga kasi until now ala pa yung case namin sa US Embassy. Nag fax na kami knina ng letter (from NVC) sa US Embassy, as advised ng call center ng US Embassy Mla. sa husband ko..hopefully manotify kami na i-approve yung early interview appointment kahit d ko pa nareceive yung packet from US Embassy..
I’m always on this site po..nakakatuwa kc site ni Ms.Ting, super nakakarelate mga pinay visa applicants, she’s helping a lot, kanina lang tumawag ako sa landline ng US Embassy para magtanong, mahal na ng binayaran. Mas informative pa site ni Ms. Ting..hehe!!!
Ok po..will keep u posted..Godbless!!!
Blush naman ako niyan, LOL!
Hi missy22,
Okay, thank you very much!
Oo nga, Ms. Ting is a God’s gift to us na nalilito sa proseso ng ating US cases. Sana lang di sya magsawa, hehehe…

hello everyone,
this site is very interesting and found a lot of information here, i also looked at http://www.visajourney.com, http://www.visapro.com,www.gstarkey.wordpress.com, (shes also like Ms.Ting, hope the 2 of them work together) to help a lot of pinay visa applicants.
Nice Site..
Regards!
Hi Lori,
That is very true. I started my research with visajourney, sa kalaunan medyo naintidihan ko na ang takbo ng proseso. Glad to know that there are more blogs about immigration.
hi ms ting this is jan just wanted to ask cause my husband file for I-130 and until now we still dont get a result but we recieved the notice that the application was recieved and is on the system that was last april but until now we dont have any result yet…how long should be the timeframe for us to recieve a result from our application?and one more thing im doubting i have hemorrhoids will that be hindrance for my visa to be approved medical wise?
hoping to hear from you soon ms ting..thank you in advance…
Hi Jan,
It usually takes 4-5 months from date of receipt notice to appoval.
As for the hemorrhoids, it is not a problem. This is not contagious. They are more concern of the dangerous comminicable diseases.

hi ms ting !my name is anna.
.Please need your advice and thank you.
Hi anna,
Why don’t you call the embassy hotline and ask for the status of your case. That’s the only way to clarify things…kelan ba ang interview mo?
Dun lang talaga ako nalito, kasi diba kung may kailangan pa sila additional documents, they should have not given me a pink slip ?is it possible kaya na nagkakamali din sila ? toink, but anyway yea tama ka,tawag na lang kami sa embassy hotline para malaman kung ano ba talaga.
Thank you Ms. Ting, nalilibang ako magbasa basa dito.Actually, kahapon pa ako pabalik balik dito heheheheheehhe.Fiance ko is from Wisconsin pala, halos wala daw pinoy dun ?sana may makita naman ako kahit isa or dalawa lang lol.
and sana magkaroon ako ng mga friends dito
God Bless You Ms. Ting and sa lahat
and one more thing pala,di naman nila binalik passport ko.Diba binabalik nila yun kapag kailangan pa nga ng additional documents ?hay nakakaloka talaga.Toink
hello to everyone ,
tanong ko lang po meron ba dito nakakuha na ng police clearnce from malaysian embassy? paano ang mg steps the ginagawa please namn eh share ninyo kasi kailangan kung malamn if in case ask sila ng police clearance from malaysia . i work kasi doon 2001-2003 … please thanks in advance
lyn
Hi Miss Ting,
pwede ba kahit old passport pa ang gamit ko? It will expire on 2012. Sabi kase nila dapat daw machine readable passport na ngayon,,, Ok lang ba kumuha ako kahit nakafill up na ko ng form, i wrote na yung passport # and expiration, form from our lawyer.
One more thing, pwede ba sa clear book ilagay yung mga email conversation namin? NOA2 – Aug 13.
Salamat
Hi luzvie,
The usage of the machine readable passport is a running change. Your pasport is still valid, so there should be no problem.
Oh sure, you can file whatever you deem feasible for you and the consul. In my case, I did not even put it in a folder. Just loose pages…I brought only about 15-20 pages…
Miss ting
Hello again and thank u again for ur reply my fiance told me bout it already…i have another question..if u received ur visa is there anything else i need to do? I heared about PDOS…So u mean we need to schedule for it before booking a flight? And one more thing about the interview fee can i pay it even one day before our interview?Thank u again and god Bless!!
Maria
Hi maria,
When you receive you visa, you need to go CFO Office for the sticker. You have to register with them. You can not leave the country without this. Before you can do this, you need to attend the PDOS seminar. If you have done the seminar already, just present the seminar certificate.
hello,i just found out ur blog and it helps lot of people talaga,so it really helpful, kaya gusto ring mag ask about sa cd xray ko interview kopo sa jan. 11,den need kopa rin ba dalhin ung cd xray ko sa embassy,kc po accidentally dahil sa kapabayaan ko,napaglaruan ng nephew ko ung cd xray ko den i found out na napilas nya ung cover eh sealed po un diba?so,ano po dapat kong gawin don para maresealed ulit xa tatanggapin kaya ng st lukes kung ipa sealed ko sa kanila, nagwoworied kc ako kc sabi nila sa usa na po raw ibibigay un kaso nalukot ung cover saka baka sabihin nila nabuksan kona, pls tell me wat im gonna do,im worried bout dat cd ryt now, thanks and god bless!!
anna, wow nakakalito nga yung case mo maganda kung approved ka na pero i suggest na iclarify mo yun case mo coz until now sabi mo wala pa yung visa mo. call the embassy and ask for the status of ur case…coz i thing the affidavit of support if a vital document na tinitingnan ng us embassy….basta i suggest call the us embassy about your case kc they will know if you still need to pass additional documents or a visa is on the way…
hello gie.
hello anna…just want to share to u na it took me almost 4 weeks for my visa..then after non i went to CFO sa katipunan for a seminar…and i think wala naman cguro prob ung petition/support kc in my case i have submitted the wrong support (my brother in law kc gave me the support)…the consul told me that my husband shud be the one giving me the support but i told him that he just got his job..he said he needs a co-sponsor so last july28 ive submitted the correct support and my visa was approved last aug20 kaya lng nareceive ko cya aug25 na kc wala pasok nung aug21…and binalik ung passport ko non…u shud call the embassy ask them kung may kulang ka pa…
lyn,
im in overland park ks, ah i havent heard that place here since i’ve been here for almost 4 months…hehehe well gudluck sa imo papers.where u in cebu again?
Hi Ting
salamat ting
april
Hi aprilsaw,
The visa maybe approved, but it is not a guarantee that the embassy will print it the next business day. If the embassy decided to verify the authenticity of the documents submitted, it could take a while for the visa to be released. If they lack a document during the interview, this could be the reason of the delay. I hope that, they submitted that document though. 3 to 4 months is very long. Make it 2-4 weeks…
Hi Ting
God Bless You
ganahan kau ko mg basa2x dako kau makatabang…we hope nalang na dika magsawa ug answer sa mga pangutana…hehehe
truly
aydsss cdo
Hi aydss,
Thank you.
hello MS. Ting!
Good day!
I’m back. I already submitted the lacking document (CENOMAR) last August 25.It was accepted without any questions, the person in-charged just told me to wait for my visa to be delivered, but as expected there was no definite date when will it be delivered.
My husband plans on getting a ticket for September 16,I told him to wait a bit longer, anyway I can’t fly without my visa in hand.
I am concern now with my CFO certificate. Apparantly, I already had one last 2007, as a pre-requisite of getting a passport, I was already engaged then with my husband now.I heard from a friend that her certificate is colored yellow when she got a sticker for it,while i got the green and blue one.
1. Will I still need to get another seminar, eventhough, I already had one with the same petitioner?
2.I got the blue and green one which I took from CEBU in 2007.What’s the difference with the yellow one my friend got last year in manila?
If i will still use my old certificate, they might not give me a sticker when my visa arrives.
I would appreciate any information you can share to me about this matter.THank you for being generous in sharing your time with me.
God bless you and your family always!
-seanimyles-
Hi seanimyles,
What I got was green and blue, and it was fine. No need to undergo the same seminar. These are the requirements to get the sticker:
Original Passport;
Original and photocopy of visa;
Original and photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary for US bound/Confirmation of Permanent Residence for Canada bound/ Embassy Certification of Eligibility (for Spain bound C visa holders);
Original CFO guidance and counseling certificate;
Duly completed emigrant registration form; and
Payment of the authorized registration fee.
Tingting
Hello miss ting,
ask ko lang kong kailangan ko pa bang humingi ng mga requirements ng asawa ko like pay stub taxes etc, kong my interview na ako dahil everyday ako nag babasa ng mga comments dito at i just wanna ask if kailangn ko rin po bang humingi sa asawa ko,dahil sabi niya pag ma recieve ko raw ang package nan don na lahat ang requirement pwde ko bang buksan yon,pls miss ting i just need ur help para walang problema pag ma interview na ako, salamat miss ting
Hi Joyce,
It is recommended as an attachment to the affidavit of support as a proof of current employment. If you have time, get about 2 mos. worth of pay stubs. What do you mean by package? Is he sending you contaning the affidavit of support? If yes, you can bring the affidavit of support to the interview UNSEALED. It is not supposed to be sealed anyway.
If not, you can provide the original employment letter from his employer.
hi po miss ting, tina again, miss ting ask po sna about sa fiance me, its it true n tinatawagan din po ng embassy ung petitioner? iniinterview rin pba cla khit s phone lang? and no po ung mga tinatanong sa knila? about po ba saan ang mga questions nla kung totoo po na tnatawagan din ang petitioner? sana po my idea kau, gs2 ko lng pong maclear ang mind ko about dian, tnx po , god bless always!
Hi Tina,
Hindi naman. Wala pa akong narining na ganyan.
hi ms ting..
just want to say thank you kc got my visa and am leaving this sep. 3 na…super thank u
and to charmie thanks din
Hi Ting,
ask ko lang Ting if mareciv KO na ang visa after INTERVIEW ko ilang days pwede ako mg stay sa pinas pwede ba ako mag stay kahit more 2months pa dito…
k3 me
aydsss
hi aydds,
The validity of the visa is 6 months. Hence, you can stay here about 5.5 months..to be safe. Anyway, they will print the validity date in the visa, so you should know then.
Hello po Ms.Ting and all readers;
i got an interview sched on 8th na po..We were allowed to have sched from Sept2-28 but we decided that date coz I have to wait for FEDEX for my husband’s I-134 and other supporting documents..
Planning to have our medical Thurs. and Fri.
Wish us luck po..
THANKS PO MS.TING AND TO ALL PEOPLE CONCERN..
Godbless us all!!!
Hi missy22,
See? Your prayer is answered. Congrats and good luck!
Hi missy22,
Good luck! God bless!!
Hi Ms. Ting,
My husband just got the letter from NVC dated 8/24
Okay lang ba na photocopy lang mga documents from him?
Ang ippresent ko on my interview, like, I-134 and everything?
Thanks a lot!
God bless!!
Hi Jho,
The I-134 MUST be originally signed by him and/or co-sponsor (if you have). Also, he needs to send the ORIGINAL of the employment letter signed by his employer. Ask him na rin to send you about 2 months worth of his pay slips. As for the tax returns and W-2, a copy will do.
Hi Ms. Ting,
Thank you very much for this info.
God bless you more and always!!
Hello Ms Ting,
Yung packet ba na to be opened at US immigration comes in a separate envelope for each person?
Because like me and my kids, we will travel in a different dates.
Thanks and God bless you more!!
Hi Jho,
Yes, they will come separately in brown envelop for EACH applicant.
Ms. Ting,
Thanks for the reply. God bless!!
Hi JHO..Thanks a lot..
I’m reviewing pa din on INFOS, bka may namiss ako or something..
Sakin po yung kasama sa FEDEX envelop is an affidavit of support (I-134) na originally signed by my husband..yung immigration lawyer po ata nag fill-up for my husband and he just signed it before sending it to me..together with all the documents (copies) they sent sa USCIS nung first application of I-130. Can’t afford not to have the visa after interview..hehe! sayang din kc if mapostponed just because kulang ng isa o dalawang documents..Also i asked my husband to send the original divorce decree too..para wala ng hassle..
Goodluck din po sayo..TC
Hi missy22,
That’s very true.
Hello everyone with the same case as mine, K3 K4
Is it possible that i K3, and my K4 (15, 18, and 19 yrs.old) will go for medical and interview on a different dates?
or
talaga bang dapat magkakasabay kami ng medical at interview?
Kasi ang plano ko, ako muna then after a month sila naman.
pwede ba yun?
Your care will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks to all, and
God bless!!
Hi Jho,
Yes, it is fine if you decide to let your children apply later. Follw-to-Join tawag nun.
Thanks a lot, Ms. Ting… God bless you!!
Hello again Ms Ting,
Okay lang ba na photocopy lang ng mga docs ang ippresent ko on my interview?
Like, I-134 and everything?
Thanks a lot!!
God bless you more!!
Hi Jho,
I-134 should be ORIGINALLY signed by your USC petitioner. The employment letter should be ORIGINALLY signed by his employer. As for the W-2 and ITR, a copy will do.
Thanks a lot Ms. Ting, you are a big help.
God bless!!
hi miss ting tnx po s reply, s uulitin po uli, god bless!
miss ting tnx po sa reply again, ask po sna me again after po mgpaset ng interview mga ilang days or wik pa waiting b4 medical sched? example po ngpaset kmi sched for interview on sept end? mga ilang days po ang waiting b4 nla iconfirm un?

YOu do not have to do that. YOur chat log will suffice. I did not do that.
Hi Ms. Ting,
Good day po., I’m here again asking your help, Bout the address in my I-130 form submitted to USCIS..I’m Moving now but i don’t know what is the best address na itatawag po ng hubby ko sa USCIS para mapalitan yun sa form I-130, I have two options can you help me to choose the best.. First at my sister house na kung saan dun po ako uuwi everyday from work pero ngrerent lang po kami dun, not permanent , the 2nd one at my husband house sa amin po iyon pero di po ako nakatira dahil malayo sa work ko, pero permanent yun pero once a month lang kung pumunta me dun, pero may nakatira po yun ate nya na hiwalay sa asawa.. Do you think ma’m makakaapekto po ito para madelay yun Approval namin pag tumawag sya sa USCIS dahil lilipat po ako ng House..Ma’m Ting thank you very much in advance..
Thank you po.. God bless us all..
HI mel,
Hindi naman yna naka-apektu sa interview. Piliin mo yung address na medyo malapit sa city para mabilis ang arrival nang letter from embassy to there.
Hi Ms Ting,
I just want to inquire regarding a police clearance/police certificate that I got from Shanghai Public Notary Office dated April 11,2008. How long does it expire? I will be having an interview on September 9, 2009 in the US Embassy Manila, Philippines, I’m just wondering, does the embassy consider my police clearance valid until my interview date? If not, what will be the steps how to obtain it ? Pls do reply. Your help will be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Hi Tina,
Do you mean the call log in your cellphone? Yes, it is fine not to present it during the interview. Just make sure that you have pther proof like 10-15 chatlogs, or a copy of his phone bill with your name showing in it, pictures, used tickets, hotel receipts, etc.
Hi missy22,
Kailan mo nareceived appoinmnet letter mo from embassy?
Thanks, God bless!!
Hi Ms Ting,
Pag nagpasched for interview sa embassy, kailangan ba bayad na or kahit hindi pa?
What are the things i need on hand when i make a call for interview sched.?
Thanks, God bless!!
Hi Jho,
Okay lang wala pang bayad, yun nga sa akin, nagbayad ako sa visa fee ko a day before my interview. Okay lang naman.
Hi Ms. Ting,
Pwede ba yung i will go to US on a K3? Tapos yung kids ko wait na lang maapprove yung I-130 petition nila?
Naguguluhan talaga ako at di ako makapagdesisyon kung ano ba ang mas ok, please help me.
Thanks a lot!!
God bless!!
More power!
Okay lang naman.
If you will wait for the I-130 approval, magiging immigrant na yung applyan nila.

Maria
Hi Maria,
How old is your kid? If she is less than 13 years old, she does not need to attend any seminar at all. Kung 13-19 years old naman, peer conselling ang tawag sa seminar na i-attend niya.
You can attend the PDOS seminar even if you do not have your visa yet. Take note –iba ang seminar sa CFO registration. Sa CFO registration, you need to have the visa so they can attached the sticker to passport. The seminar is a requirement to register with CFO.
Here are the requirement for the seminar:
Two (2) valid identification cards (IDs) with photograph;
Duly completed guidance and counseling form;
If married, certified true copy and photocopy of marriage contract on security paper from the National Statistics Office (NSO), or Local Civil Registry Offices (LCRO); or original and photocopy of marriage contract duly authenticated by the Philippine Embassy/Consulate (if married abroad)
Other documents as may be required by the counselors; and
Payment of P250.00 counseling fee.
Here are the requirement for the CFO Registration:
Original Passport;
Original and photocopy of visa;
Original and photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary for US bound/Confirmation of Permanent Residence for Canada bound/ Embassy Certification of Eligibility (for Spain bound C visa holders);
Original CFO guidance and counseling certificate;
Duly completed emigrant registration form; and
Payment of the authorized registration fee.

Then today (SEPT.1) I got the letter from US Embassy Manila(dated AUG.26) thru FEDEX na yun nga po I’m eligible for interview..
Tomorrow punta na ako Manila..3 and 4 magpamedical..Then Sept.8 magpainterview po..
WISH me LUCK!!!
Ms.Ting thanks po..your site is very helpful..I’ll keep u all posted whatever the outcome is..
Goodluck to all..Godbless!!!
Hi Ms. Ting,
and
Hi missy22,
My husband got a mail from NVC dated 8/24, informing that they will send the letter to manila embassy within a week, and it says there the MNL case no., and I will soon receive a packet w/ intstruction on how to apply for a K3 visa.
I called the embassy this afternoon, just to check if they received the approved petition, and to my surprise they received it just today Sept.01
Then I asked, if when i will get the letter from them for me to bring it on my medical exam. She said that, its better to call and make a schedule for visa interview and they will email me the confirmation, once i have it, make a hard copy, then, i will bring it on my medical exam.
Thanks a lot!!
Good luck missy22!!
God bless you Ting!!
God bless us always!!
That’s good news. Cograts and good luck!

Hi Jelyn,
Biometrics is the same as finger-scanning. Just like what you had during the embassy interview. Basically, they are just checking if you are really the “Jelyn” that was granted a visa in the Philippines.

Hi April,
What visa did you applied for? Are you in the USA? Are you already a GC holder? If yes, you can start by filing up the form I-130.
If you do not have your GC yet, your husband should file the I-130, not you.

Hi Tina,
Yes, bring your child’s immunization record from her/his private physician. No need for the med certificate. In my case, I just photocopied the record from the doctor’s clinic. Well, the doctor granted my request since it’s for immigration purposes.

Hi julie ann,
1. Yes, you are correct. It is NOT needed for tourist visa.
2.Yes, you need it if you are going to Norway or any ither country as an IMMIGRANT.
3. Yes, it is OK to attend the seminar with a passport only. But you can not get the CFO sticker, if you do not have the visa yet. You just have to go back in CFO Office. HOwever, you can always do this also in CFO Manila.
hello…..

Yes, all country….kung immigrant ka.

Hi joselyn,
You cna bring the X-ray film and results during your evaluation. SLEC is the only accredited clinic to do these immigration med exams. YOu have no choice, but to follow what they instruct you to do. Kung pakiusapan mo, okay lang naman, pero the answer is up to the doctor. Don’t lose hope. You will be here soon.
hi ting
i e-mailed u already and im just waiting for ur reply hopefully soon…im tryna find out what to do about the AOS thing but some of the info makes me feel confuse..i really wanna do the right way so its wasting time n din dba…
godbless and more power to ur site
Hi ashley,
SOrry ha natagalan ako….I will reply to your email today. The very first step that you need to do is complete the shots that you are still lacking BEFORE you go to the civil surgeon, para makamura. Most of these civil surgeons have expensive fees on shots. You can go to your local health clinic. SOme shots maybe free.

hi ms ting…i would be leaving on Tue for the US under an IR1 visa.I was just wondering if I would also be required to fill out the I-194 form? or if I would fill out a different form…nabasa ko kasi na ung mga nagffill up lang ng I-194 form are those that have non-immigrant visa…thank u in advance..
Hi Mish,
I think, all you have to fill up is the customs declaration form, which will be given by the flight attendant to you during your flight before you will arrive in your port of entry.

Hi Julie,
During my CFO seminar, I had a co-attendant that was bound for Sweden. Sge got married to a Swedish.
The CFO registration requirement is not a foreign country’s policy, but that of our own. It is the Philippine government that requires it. If he will still not believe you, tell him to read CFO’s website at http://www.cfo.gov.ph
my website po vah kayo sa norway embassy pwd po humingi?salamat po….
It’s http://www.norway.ph
kc nag search po ako dami kasing lumalabas eh….diko naman po hawak ang oras ko sa computer kasi dami rin po ako ginagawa….so baka meron po kayong website jan na quality para pagtanungan na rin po…

Hi Tina,
The CENOMAR you have now is still fine. Medyo hindi pa naman siya oldie.
The NBI Clearance will do. No need for local Police Clearance. It’s OK to get it now. Sometimes kasi, pag nag-”hit” yung name mo, they (NBI) will issue your clearance a week after your request date. They need to verify pa kasi kung wala ka talagang record.
Yes, you can do your medical this week na. Ang iba nga as far a 1 month in advance.
Regards,
Tingting

Hi mel,
It usually takes 5-6 months from your approval date to your interview appointment. CR-1 is am immigrant visa. It takes longer than K-1 or K-3. But it worth it naman.

hi miss ting,,,
maraming salamat s e-mail n pinadala u sakin, i just read it today..i will follow all the info and idea that u said in the e-mail but i just got a question, kung mg-file nb kmi ng AOS ko nextmonth and with the AOS and I-130 ng daughter ko all together how much is gonna cost for everything? is it ($1010) for my AOS and another ($600+$355) for my daughter AOS and I-130 as long as i we file everything at the same time? and if we file mine first before my daughter is it $930+355? saka miss ting ask ko n din about I-765 and I-131, is it free to file those form along with my AOS? or do i need to pay for it too? is it taking so long to get the AOS approve? like usually how many months kaya? i read ur AOS timeline here and i showed that to my hubby so we can get some info and idea of what to do, and we are so thankful to u miss ting cuz u have been helping me out eversince til now that im here already with my hubby, and hopefully i can get my 10 years GC too like urs para no hassle at all and not wasting too much money n din and time…
thanks u so much for the help miss ting and godbless u always
Hi ashley,
You are K-3 and K-4, right? For you, you will pay $1,010.00 and for your kid $600.00 + $355.00 (if your husband did not file a separate I-130 petition for her during the K-3 and K-4 process.
Yes, I-131 and I-765 are FREE if file together or with a pending AOS. My AOS took roughly about 6 months for the whole process. The I-765 will be issued after 90 days from submission.
Hello!! MS. Ting
CR-1
Seanimyles here again, just telling you that i received my VISa already last september 5. I was the one who needed to submit a CENOMAR for my additional document.I submitted last August 25,but it was just processed September 3 and got it delivered September 5.It wasn’t a long wait though.
My target date of flight is on September 18.Thank God.
I still have few questions left if I may.
I took a CFO seminar when i was still engaged to him as a pre-requisite to getting a passport, last 2007.This time the passport I’m using is carrying his name already as married.
1.Will I still need to attend another PDOS
My visa is good until January of 2010.I was told that the greencard will arrived after a week or the maximum duration of 3 weeks after my arrival in the US.
2.Will I be getting the 10 year GC? We’re going to celebrate our 2nd year wedding anniversary this coming
November 2009. Or we will still apply for another application in order to get a 10 year GC,as I read from blogs about applying for a certain application before the 2nd year anniversary to get a 10-year GC?
As i am not sure if it’s even applicable for a questiuon.
3.I am 4 months on the way so I wasn’t given any vaccinations from SLEC. Should i be getting a mail about requiring me to finish what’s lacking on my medical records upon arriving there or i will need to do it voluntarily after giving birth?
I know it was a lot of questions, but if only you have any idea about it I will gladly appreciate it.
Again let me extend my deepest gratitude for being so generous of your time to answer my queries. You have been a part of my journey.
MAy the Lord God continue to bless you and your family.
Respectfully,
Seanimyles
Hi seanimyles,
Congrats!
1. No need to attend another PDOS seminar. You do it only once. Just present the seminar certificate during your CFO registration, some required docs, and fee.
2. I do not think that you will get the 10-year GC since you are a CR-1 applicant. If you are more than 2 years married, the visa category is automatically an IR-1.
3. SLEc should have given your vaccination record. In there, it states what vaccines you are still lacking and needs to be completed in the USA. But since you are pregnant, looks like, some vaccines are not applicable.
Regards.
Hello everyone..
Hi Ms. Ting and Jho..
I’m done with interview na po last Sept.8 even my medical results was just released today (2 days after my psyche evaluation coz of the scar on my left wrist)..The US Embassy told me to just wait for the visa 3-5 days..
Pero…at the end..HE SAID: I didn’t see any ISSUES except we have to wait for your medical results..(Nadeliver yung med. results ng anak ko same day ng interview..sinabay ko kc immunization nya sa psyche eval. ko..)
Now, antay na lang kami ng visa..hopefully will be delivered this weekend and mkapag sticker Monday then sna mkaalis na kami by Tues.
Goodluck to all!!!
Godbless…
Congrats, missy22. Keep me posted.
mj
hi ting;
i just read your page and i think i have lots of idea thru to it. i would aslk cos my petition is approved already in US but then if id apply for Visa (k3) do i need to stay in Manila? can u advice me how long should a stay there so i would complete all before going back home to Cagayan De Oro? mejo malayo kasi, i want it sulit sana.
please give me an idea..
thanks
Hi Mj,
Usually, you will have to go to Manila in 2 occasions — for your medical exam (2 days) and the interview (1 day). I am from CDO too. During my med exam, I (and my daughter) stayed in Manila for just 3 nights. For the interview, we statyed for just 2 nights.
MISS TING ITS TRUE PO BA N FOR FORMALITY NLANG ANG INTERVIEW WITH CONSUL? TNX PO
Hi Tina,
Not true. The consul are very well-trained in their field. They can read people’s facial expression and gestures, if you are lying or just nervous.
hi ma’am
My American husband filled a petition thru lawyer in US and he paid morethan what we are expected. he has the approved petition now and planned to give it to the lawyer right a way
.
question:
Is he just the lawyer for petition only? what bout the k3 visa that he said he will do it? possible for him to do without my presence in embassy?
if he’ll be doing up to petition only, and ill be the one who’s going to apply for visa in manila: i saw the requirement its says also i need to have POLICE CLEARANCE FOR OTHER COUNTRY” what do u mean by that?:
I been in Bahrain for work.. was there last july 2007 up to april 2009 and had the seminar , just like PDOS , ” do i need to take those seminars again? for CFO Registration / Guidance & Counseling Seminar.
am now living in Oroqueta city can u advise me what to do? like when ill go manila, up to when should i stay there? and what the best address do i need to put for Air21 required address?
please help me thru it, and i thank you for reading my mail.
God bless you more.
Hi mj,
The lawyer’s services should end after the adjudication, whther approved or denied. YOUR PRESENCE is the very essence of the interview. You need to go there personally. It is a REQUIREMENT.
You do not need the lawyer to go with you.
From July 2009 to April 2009? You definitely need a Police Clearance from Bahrain.
As for the CFO seminar, I think, you need to have it. The spousal kind of seminar is deiffrent from the work-related seminar. But anyway, you can call CFo to verify this. I am not pretty sure about this.
By the way, did you email me? I will reply to your email too.
Ms Ting,
Thank for you reply, yeah i got it . so lawyer is just up to Petition.
Re Police certificate, meaning i need it? i mean i only have compnay certification when i went home, was employed in Bahrain july 2007 and went home phil. April 2009. Do i need those? or thats just for applicant who residing there, cos i was there as OFW.
I f i need, how? am now here in Cagayan and does it takes time?
Re CFO, yeah ill call them and ask… but then i dont know if i need to attend PDOS.
Re interview and medical , yeah better to have it at a tme but then can i take my Seminar for CFO right after my Visa approved? or the day after my interview?
Lastly, do i need to wait in manila till i get approve? or ill use my hometown address for Air21?
Thank you Ms. Ting, sencya na.. dami kong tanong.
Gob bless
Hi Mj,
Even if you were classified as OFW, you still lived there for more than 6 months. I believe that, you need a letter from the embassy to request this police clearance. Worst comes to worst, you can bring your employment certificate during your interview. The consul will just then require you to submit the police clearance at a later date. If you got lucky, they may not even request it. Cross your fingers, especially that this document is still part of the requirements.
From the embassy’s website for K-3 applicants:
OTHER COUNTRY POLICE CERTIFICATES. Applicants aged 16 years and older must also present police certificates from other countries where they have lived for six (6) months or more after reaching the age of 16. As with NBI clearances, foreign police certificates should be obtained in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name, and any aliases or nicknames ever used, including different spellings you have used of those names while in the country in question. Country-specific information on how to secure police certificates is available on the State Department’s web site at http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciprocity/reciprocity_3272.html
Thank you Ms ting, i think ill have to call them just to make sure.
Mail you soon.
God bless

Hi kayenne,
What visa do you have K-3 or CR-1? If CR-1, you will just wait in the mail for your GC and your SSN.
For K-1 or K-3, you need to go to the SSA Office to apply for it.
im cr1…ok thanks po…my husband doesnt have any time kc to accompany me but glad to know na d ko na kailangan pumunta to apply,,thanks again,,God Bless…

CFO Registration / Guidance & Counseling Seminar
Before you can leave the country, you need to attend a seminar and have a CFO sticker in your passport. This is a must. You can either do this at their Cebu or Manila Office. Take note — the seminar will be held at a different venue than the CFO registration where the sticker will be posted in your passport.
YOu can get the CFO sticker/stamp athe the CFO Office (and not the immigration office) either in Manila or Cebu Office. Here is their website for your reference.
tanx miss ting..god bless
hi miss ting ask ko lang kung ilang days po ba ung seminar for PDOS?., and bout sa CFO requirements, ano ba ung Immigrant Data Summary for US bound?

Hi maimai,
If you have not attended yet, then you should.
Hello Ms. Ting,
May mga tanong lang po ako:
1. Kailangan po ba na humingi ako ng complete record vaccine
ng mga anak ko from their pedicatrician with printed and signature and her license number?
2. Anu-ano po ba yung mga hinihinging mga documents sa
pre-interview and final interview? Lahat po ba yun ay mga originals copy and ibibigay?
3. Gaano po katagal ang interview lalo na po pag dalawang bata ang kasama? Nagtatanong din po ba sila sa mga bata?
4. Marami po ba sila tinatanong about sa petitioner?
Hello everyone!!!!!!!
I’m flying to US in two days from now..I hav no idea on the procedure of the flight.
I believe there is a connecting flight, as for my case I’m flying with NWA.I know my port of entry but I don’t really have an idea about how the whole process of the flight.
From manila aiport-japan-detroit-newark.THe step to step procedures will be much appreciated by not just me but to the others who are also in the same plight as me.This is my first travel,as u surely understand…it’s really killing me.
All I can say is that I am holding an e-ticket with me.If anyone who cares enough to share their experiences,I badly need your help. What to do first upon arrival? IS it possible to bring some biscuits in the hand carry bag while on the plane?or how should I start my day at the airport(PI)?
More power to all and Good Luck to all of us!
God bless!!!
^^
hi miss ting!!
thanks alot for all the advice and idea..now i feel relief and finally i know what im gonna do to my AOS thing…ur such a nice and very helpful person thank u so much again…but one thing to let u know , i went to the SSN office and they said they can’t give me SSN # right now cuz i dont have my EAD yet, they’re asking me that, so basically i have to apply my EAD along with my AOS and wait for the EAD to be arrive then i can go back and apply my SSN..hopefully its not gonna take long for the EAD so atleast i can have some ID cuz the only ID that i have here is my PASSPORT and my MILITARY SPOUSE ID and it helped me in some many ways too..thanks again miss ting and more power to ur site…
Hi Ashley,
For K-3, they need the EAD or GC, before they can issue the SSN.
hi ting,
accidentally kasi na naopen ng tita ko ung brown envelop ng visa packet nya, worried kasi sya.. nabasa ko sa ilang mga sagot mo rin dito regarding this matter… ask ko lang sana kung ano mga requirements sa pagbalik sa US embassy para ipareseal ung brown envelope.? saka kailangan pa bang mag-pa-appointment ulit?.. thanks.. hope to hear from you..
god bless..
Hi April,
Yes, you need to go back to the embasy to re-seal it. The immigration officer at your POE ept it if the seal is “broken”.
For sure, she needs to bring some photo identification. Just to make sure, call the embassy.
halo poh Miss Ting,
i’m an avid fan poh sa blog nyu, which means i am also one of those filing for visas, and is still in the process , and test for patience..As i read along all the messages, youv have helped alot , dozens , thousand of people, and i hope you can help me too poh..huhuh
i already had my medical sa SLEC ..it took me weeks poh to get my medicals done dahil poh sa x-ray ko na may scar daw..which i had undergo 3 days of sputum test from WED – FRI ..then balik na naman ng Monday to get the result, was scheduled around 1:30 pm tapos nag start xa mga 2 na. The result was negative..thank GOd..wla akong TB …tapos , sinabihan nila ako na they still need to observe the test for 2 months to check if wlaa bang change sa results ( CUlture test and tawag nila ) ..all my savings, plans shattered sigh..and they want me to call them on Nov.12 for follow up…sigh…
i know id still be negative..ang tanong ko poh after dat would i ahve my vacinations already?and how many days does the vacination take.then poh , and SLEC na poh pa ang mag ski schedule ng interview ko since, my interview was suppose to be this SEP. 16?…
and one thing poh..all the files i have from my husband are all copies..cause we both communicate through e-mail , then i print all the files he sents me..or do i need to ahve the originals of the 129 and 130? W2 1040 tax incomes?…divorce papers? im in deep need of your help poh..
hope that your reading this and would love to have some of your precious time..thank you poh..
LOUCY,
–cebu–
Hi Loucy,
Sorry to hear that. The vaccination will take only a half day. The long period is more of the waiting game. Yes, SLEC usually schedule for your interview for cases like yours. Just to make sure, DO NOT forget to ask them.
For your I-130, I-129F, Tax 1040, W-2, etc, copies are fine, EXCEPT for the affidavit of support (I-134) and his employment letter (if you opt to have one). These should be originally signed and dated.
Well, dapat then pictures, money trasnfer receipts, etc. are original.
hi miss ting…just wanna ask lang po your opinion regarding our petition do you think it will be be better if we get a lawyer or not?kasi hubby ko lang nag pa process ngayon and how much do you think well be the expenses approximately for visa application and medical?thank you in advance…
You’re hubby is fine. It is just easy.

hi miss ting
i just wanna ask what is the I-94 departure record??? is that a small paper that the immigration gave us and they staple into our passport? im confusing about this cuz i remember the day that i get here, the immigration guy asked me what is my visa type which is k3 cuz i dont think he knows about that, he is kinda new in his job thats what i guess then he asked another immigration guy over there tryna find out what is k3 then he came back to his area then he gave me a copy of that small paper and put it in my passport, then he took my US EMBASSY PACKAGE, is that right??? it tooks almost 1 hour at the immigration line cuz he opened the package then he read some of the papers and he never gave it back to me. i saw my medical papers there from st.lukes and etc…. miss ting thank u for sharing ur experienced for k3 and AOS…now we starting to fix my papers here and sooner or later we will going to file that…ur a big help for all of us..godbless u always!!!
Hi ashley,
Yes, it is the small white piece of paper. The guy is correct of getting your brown envelope from you.
Your I-94 is basically your “lifeline” here. When you apply for driver’s licence and ID, they will ask for it…even EAD and AOS. So do not lose it. It states there the period of your leagal stay in the US. K-3 has a 2-year vaildity. YOu are not in dire need to work, you can file for your AOS before this 2-year expiration.
hi miss ting..
godbless..:)
Hi Lourdes,
The K-3 visa has a 6-month expiration period. You can use it before it will expire. There should be no problem.
Hello Ms Ting,
We recieve i129f aproval today ,Since we are using a k3 visa kailangan pa bang hihintayin ang i 130? at saka pwede po bang sabayin ko nalang ang pag process ng US passport ng anak ko she is 3 yrs old,pag my interview at medical na ako? para mas makakatipid ako kesa pabalik balik ako sa maynila Mindanao kasi ako.at makukuha ko ba agad ang US passport ng anak ko,i hope to hear u soon Ms Ting,God bless u thanks alot
joyce
Hi Joyce,
No need. Right now, all you need to do is wait for the letter notification from NVC stating your MNL case number for your K-3. Then wait for a letter from the embassy informing you that your case is now ready for interview appointment. After that, you will have to call them for your appointment scheduling.
You will only wait for the approval I-130 if you intend to pursue CR-1 or IR-1.
The US passport application at the embassy has certain schedule. If you want, you can have your medical exam a month in advance (from your interview appointment) then apply for your kid’s passport at the same time. SLEC and the embassy are just near to each other. It will take 3 weeks to get her passport.
Below is the details.
■Passports and Birth Registration Monday through Friday 7:30am – 11:00am. Telephone inquiries, 2:00pm – 4:00pm.
■Consular report of birth abroad and first time adult derivative citizenship applications are by appointment only.
■Allow three weeks to receive a new passport.
■All passport forms are available online at http://www.travel.state.gov.
Hi lourdes,
You can answer the following:
#8 — same surname stated in your passport. if it is still in your maiden name, it is still fine.
#9 — you can write your complete maiden name
Hi Ting,
our two petitions (I-130 and I-129F for K3 visa)got approved last Sept. 3, 2009. I’m just wondering what will happen next? I want to know the whereabouts of our approved petition, is it in NVC already, or forwarded to Manila? Do you have any idea of how to contact the NVC directly? I want to ask them if they have already received the approved petition from USCIS or if they already had forwarded it to US embassy Manila.
Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks
Hi Lylle,
Give it another a week from the approval date to the transfer to NVC. Then another 2 weeks from NVC to embassy. So around a 3-4 weeks, your case should be at the embassy level. Do not worry. NVC will send a notification to your husband as soon as they generate the MNL case number. As soon as you have this, you can have your medical exam as early as that.
Good luck and congrats!
Thanks Ting, you are of great help. I found the NVC email address here in your blog site. So I tried to email them. Hope we hear from the NVC soon. Just cant wait to be with my husband in US.
God bless.

Hi Mary,
Is your case complicated? If not, you can do it yourself. The immigration processs is quite easy if you know how to follow instructions.
Besides, lawyers are expensive. But if you have the money to shed, okay lang din naman.

Tingting

hello po ms ting,
maraming maraming salamat po sa lahat ng help nyo sa amin. di po kami maliliwanagan kung wala kayo na tumutulong sa mga tanong namin sana po wag kayo magsasawa.

maraming salamat po miss ting
god bless you and your family
thanks po
Hi Lexa,
If you are a CR-1 or IR-1 visa holder, you DO NOT need to apply for AOS. Basically, you are already an LPR. All you need to do is wait for your 2-yr. GC and SSN in the mail.
If you want to petition your kid, you need to file for form I-130. Sa apo mo, medyo malabo. It has to be your child who will petition your apo, if she/he becomes an LPR or citizen. Read more here..http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-130instr.pdf
There is no visa category for married children of permanent residents. If an unmarried son or daughter of a permanent resident marries before the permanent resident becomes a U.S. citizen, any petition filed for that son or daughter will be automatically revoked.
As soon as you have your GC, you can travel outside the country without problems of coming back here.
hello po again,
thanks for answering soon po.
i am CR1 po at nasa akin nadin po ang GC AT ssn ko po mam. so ang i fifile ko lang po ba yung petition ng anak ko at di kasama anak nya mam?
thanks po
Hi Lexa,
Yes, only for your child, not your grandchild.
Hi Ting,
Thank God! I’m done with my medical today and it was great!
Thanks for this site, more power!
God bless!!
YOu’re welcome Jho.
Hi Cheche,
Do not worry too much. USCIS will eventually send you an RFE if they will need your vaccination supplement (form I-693A), which will be originally signed by the USCIS designated civil surgeon. As for your pregnancy, you will just inform the civil surgeon about it. YOu do not need to complete the vaccination. All they do is signed form I-693A. Some have gotten away without it though. Hope you are one of them.
Take note — vaccination supplement is needed only if your medical exam from SLEC is less than a year when you filed your AOS. If more than a year, you need to do the WHOLE medical exam (form I-693).
Regards,
Tingting
miss ting yong sa daughter mo nagfile kana rin?kasi k3-k4 din ako at nauna muna yong oas kopagfile wala bang maging problem yon?
Hi Che,
I did file her AOS later than mine. I had to pay the whole amount of $900.00 (I-485) + $355.00 (I-130). I submitted her I-130 along with the AOS packet, since we were not able to do it during the K-3/K-4 phase.
Personally, I suggest you file your child’s AOS before you will have your GC. Her K-4 status is solely dependent on your K-3 status. Thus if you lose your K-3 because you are already a resident, she can no longer file as K-4 filing for AOS. In fact, the K-4 visa will become invalid. Once this happens, she is considered as having unlawful presence in the US. I suggest that, you file her AOS about 1-2 months from your filing date.
Regards,
Tingting
miss ting nkuha ko na po yung GC ko nd na kakuha na din me ng SSS. question po what if i want to have my vacation in the philippines khit 4 2 weeks kelangan ko po pa dn po ba kumuha ng travel document nalilito kc ako
hi Gie,
No need to get a travel document. Your GC (and passport)is all you need.
Hello ting, i found your site very full information. I have few questions please i need help badly, i am already confused. I have receive a letter from the us embassy manila stating that my case is eligible for a visa interview, my question is, 1. is the letter that i will show to st. lukes?
2. do i make appointment to st. lukes before i will have my medical? ( I will be flying to manila this september 22 for medical on september but i did not call st. lukes for a medical appointment?
3. How many times does the us embassy manila sent you letter?
Please i need help i am so confused of these.
best regards,
Rose
Hi Rose,
1. Yes, you can bring that in SLEC during your med exam.
2. No. It’s first come, first serve basis.
3. Just once.
When is your interview?
hi po miss ting tina again, wer done npo sa medical nmin ng baby me, kso po kulang pa kmi papers for interview ko this coming sept 25 especially ung 1040 and w2 po nia wla pa skin untill now and sa priority mail lang po nia nihulog dko pa po lam kung drating un nxt wik, and about sa police clearance nman po kaapply ko pa lng po last sept 16, and it will take pa po 2 to 3 months process nun, miss ting pede pba pacancel ang interview date ko on sept 25 and tell them nlang po n kulang pa papers me? and about nman po sa afidavit of support ok npo b ung 1040 and w2 lng po ang present ko sa consul time ng interview ko? kc sbi ok n dw po un khit un lng khit wla mga bank statement or pay stubs kc pnadala lng po nia ung 1040 and w2 copies lng po, at dpo cia original ok lng po ba un? at do you think po ba d mgexpire un khit umabot po ng 2 to 3 months interview me in case po? at ung mga cenomar at nbi clearance kailangan po ba uli kumuha bago in case na abutin kmi 2 to 3 months ang interview? miss ting sna po msagot nio lhat questions me and cencia npo mrami me question wori lng po at dko po alam mga gagawin
Hi Tina,
Actually, a photocopy of 1040 and W-2 will do. Your USC petitioner can scan and email it to you. But the affidavit of support should be ORIGINALLY signed by him. Can he send another using FedEx?
If you want to RE-SCHEDULE (not CANCEL) it, yes, you may do so. By the way, are you refereeing to the police clearance for a foreign country? Or just a local police clearance?
Miss Ting,
Hi Rommel,
In cases like yours, SLEC usually schedule the interview with the embassy. Since your sputum is negative, okay lang naman yun. Ang problema is kung ang X-ray and sputum mo puro positive. Kasi kung ganito ang resulta, talagang you have to undergo treatment pa sa Pinas (aabot ng months..ang iba 6 mos.), administered by SLEC.
hello ms. ting, its me rose again, i will just revised my last email that i have sent you. I am a K1 visa applicant and i have a 2 year old daughter who is my derivative. Me and my fiance are so confused with the packet and letter that the US embassy would send to the applicant. We read lots of blogs that the US embassy manila will send a packet, then we read other blogs too that the US Embassy will send a letter. I have recieved a letter from the US embassy manila last September 14,2009, stating that my case is eligible for a visa interview and put the phone number of the embassy to be call but they also put in the letter that i will have to comply medical first. Is the letter i have received is already the packet or just a letter? Or we will wait another letter from the embassy? Second question, is the letter i have received, is that the letter that i will bring to my medical? I will be flying to manila this tuesday for medical but we did not call st. lukes for a medical appointment. Shall we make a call to st. lukes first and have a medical appointment schedule. Please i am so confused what to do, we have booked flight and hotel for manila already. Hope to hear from you ms. ting,, and anyone who knows the answer of problem please help me too.
Hi Rose,
This is the only letter you will need to start your preparation. Here is what you need to do:
1. Call the embassy to schedule your interview.
2. Once you have the interview date, you will then have the idea on WHEN your medical exam should be. It is usually 1-2 weeks BEFORE your interview date. Bring the letter you received from the embassy during your med exam.
3. Here is the link of the documents the embassy require for K-1 and K-2…K-1/K-2 Required Documents . This is taken from the embassy’s official website. They used to send appointment packets, but now, I do not think that they are still doing it.
4. Once all documents and med exam are done, you are set to go.
Oooopppss…make sure you have done your CFO seminar and registration BEFORE you leave the Philippines. You can do this when you already have your visa in your hand.
Good luck.
miss ting in addition po sa tanong ko above, kapag umabot pba na 2 to 3 months pa b4 me mainterview dpo ba maxpire ung approval ng petition nmin? kc po balak kpo pacancel ung interview date ko this coming sept.25 at di po mgshow up sa interview dhil sa kulang ng papers, but im wori po bka mexpire ung approval nmin ng petition and mgkaproblem kmi, wat do you think po ba dapat me gwin? and how long pba ang tagal bgo maexpire ung petition? and ung medical? pero s medical po tapos n kmi ng baby me at nkuha n me ung cd and immunization record nmin 2, interview lang po problem me kc kulang pa po me ng documents, miss ting help me kung pano gagawin me,plsssssssssssss, hoping for your reply, tnx po talga, god bles always!
Hi Tina,
You can show up to your interview. Just show any proof that you already requested for your Police Clearance. Usually, if the embassy needs more document from you, they will just give you the white form which will show what documents that you need to submit at a later date.
Kung ako lang, I will show up. Just be upfront with the consul about your police clearance. Malay mo swertihin ka at hindi ka na hanapan ng PC.

Hi Julie,
This refers to your husband’s passport. I assume that, he visited you here in the Philippines. When he entered and exited the country, the airport staff stamped something in his passport. This is the page that I am referring to.

Hi Mary Jan,
The next thing to do is wait and wait. The NV and embassy will eventually send you a notification. It will state the steps that you need to do. I say, give it a week or 2 for the NVC to send the letter.

Hello tina, all of the infos here are very helpful, just keep on reading them.
Thanks a lot!!
Okay lang naman yung mga questions, hindi naman yung para kang nasa hot seat, i find them very kind, considerate and approachable.
Some of the questions are answerable by yes or no.
Some are infos about you and your petitioner like;
how old are you and your husband/fiance
where. when and how did you meet
about his work
you/husband’s birthdate
when do you intend to leave
something like that,
just be yourself, wag ka kabahan, well, its normal kung kakabahan minsan, right?
i find the interview, was just to let them know if you really the applicant.
hope it will help,
God bless!!

Sure, no probs.
Hello mary jan mitchell,

stating my eligibility to Visa interview.
Hope it will help.
Thanks, God bless!!
hi ting,
ask unta ko kong importante ba ang cfo certifecate para passport, kay dili man daw kuno makakuha ug passport kong dili magsiminar sa cfo cebu,im married already amirican man, from usa.im happy so much u have this kind of site, and thanks i got ur guide about the requirment also ,im hope u answer about my question, thanks a lot ,
from jing.
Hi jing,
YES, the CFO seminar is a requirement if you want to get a passport under your married name, if you are married.
jho tnx for the reply, i appreciated that, i hope its ok to ask you again, and tnx for your advice for the interview, i will just ask you about the divorce papers of my fiance do i still need that to present on my interview? and tlaga bang hinahanap nla un or require tlaga? kc wla me copy nun, ntanggap ko n kc ung papers from him na inaayos n agency dun s amerika sbi nndun n lahat ung kailangan me for my inteview kso wla dun ung divorce papers copy nia, and sbi dna dw kailangan un, gus2 ko sna lng maclear un, under k1 visa kc me, my interview is nxt month oct.28, miss ting cguro bussy po kau, excuse po snio ask lng po me question ky jho, tnx po always, tina
Hi Tina,
I’ll answer this.
DEFINITELY, YES. You need to provide a certified copy fo the dirvorce decree of your fiance’s previous marriage. It is a REQUIREMENT.
Do not forget to get your CENOMAR too before the interview.
tina kahit hindi ako hiningan ng divorce paper kasi both kami ng fiance is single, i think you need the divorce papers nya kc inaask ng consul if you are married before or if your petitioner was married before kapag sinabi mo na yes they will ask you for a document na you are legally free to marry…jas ask your fiance to send it to you…about the letter to intent to marry ang alam ko dis is a requirement during the application of the petition pero hindi kami hiningan nito…about sa cenomar 6 months ang validity nito yung nbi one year…yung petition mo i think is 4 months nasa approval notice mo yun…check mo….
That’s correct.
Ting
i read here about I-129 and I-130 medyo maliwanag ang pagkasabi…malabo pa rin sa kin yong turning 19th years old this Oct kng anak kng mkakasama ko ba sa k4…?pls i need your response
Bing,
Your USC petitioner can include your child in your petition (meaning can come with you at the same time) if your marriage with him is BEFORE your child’s 18th birthday. Ang tanong ngayon, when did you get married?
Taken from form I-130:
Stepparent/Stepchild: If your petition is based on a stepparent-stepchild relationship, you must file your petition with a copy of the marriage certificate of the stepparent to the child’s natural parent showing that the marriage occurred before the child’s 18th birthday, copies of documents showing that any prior marriages were legally terminated and a copy of the stepchild’s birth certificate.
By the way, what’s your visa category — K3 or CR-1?
gud day MS tING,
we were married after my daughter’s 18th bday, she is turning 19 this Oct….My hubby told me to apply for CR-1
but he was thinking about my daughter? i tried to tell him na k3 na lng so that i can include my daughter and bring her to the US and at least the quickiest di ba? do my hubby need to have 2 application for us or 2 I-130 form for both of us? or isang form lng? kasi pag 2 application form, $355 ang fees each…
waiting for ur reply..
bing
hi gie tnx for the reply, kc wori kc me s mga papers n dapat me iprepare, so thats mean i really need that may i ask kung pede scan nia then email nia skin and print nlang me d2 or kailangan original copy? and dun sa evidence of meeting person prior to the petition ok lng mga piktures dba? khit wla me copy passport nia with stamp nung ngpunta cia d2 sa pinas or hotel receipt, kc remember ngbigay k skin site about the requirements for k1 interview, sbi kc dun a few photographs is ok na for evidence of a meeting prior to the petition, then i check the site your right i really need divorce decree nia, pero cguro ok n ung copy nlang khit d original no? hoping for your reply again, tnx, god bless! miss ting excuse lng po snio ask lng po me kay gie and jho for my interview preparation, tnx po. and gie ibig b sbihin pede p din ung nbi ko and cenomar khit TUMagal pa ng 2 months or 2 months 1/2, do you think b dna cla ask for new? god bless ALWAYS!
Hi Tina,
The affidavit of support needs to be ORIGINALLY signed by your USC petitioner. Also, get a certified copy (with seal) of his divorce decree if he was married before. The rest, like tax papers, OK lang photocopy. You need to get a copy of his passport with the arrival and departure stamp. They will ask you about this during the interview. He can just scan and email it to you. No need to get hold of his orginal passport.
NBI clearance is valid for 1 year, so I do not see any problem. Yung CENOMAR naman, OK lang din yun.
Good luck.
tina i think dapat original copy yung divorce decree ng fiance mo…mga legal documents kc yan eh. about dun sa evidence of meeting i suggest ask your fiance to photocopy his passport with the arrival nd departure date nung nagvisit sya coz the consul will ask you when did he visit you and the consul may ask you evidence…. pictures nyo will serve as a proof na magkasama kayo or nagdate kayo during his visit…saka iaask syo yung date when did your fiance visit you….yup ok pa yung nbi and cenomar mo…ska dont forget yung affidavit of support mo dapat original signed by your fiance… i suggest gawa ka ng checklist ng mga need mo na document na kelangan mo para maipadala ng fiance mo the sooner the better
I would like to clarify this , OKAY. A certified copy is fine for the divorce decree. You can usually get it from the health department or clerk of court on where the divorce was filed for a minimal fee.
If you say ORIGINAL kasi, that means, yung ORIGINAL copy talaga ORGINALLY signed by the adjudicating judge and the parties involved.
thanks for the clarification miss ting i don’t know kc regarding the divorce decree all i know is need ni tina ng copy sa website kc ng us embassy manila di specified kung original or copy so i presume na original copy sya since legal docs sya… thanks sa info miss ting
tnx again gie, about affidavit of support nia my sign nia na, and one more thing kailangan b notarized pa ung affidavit of support nia? kc all i know kailangan lng my sign nia right and no need to notarized right? yap kulang nlang kc me ung coppy of passport nia and divorce decree from him, hoping for your reply again, tnx
No need to notarized. The new form itself has legally bind the signer (your petitioner) and is like signing under oath na rin.
Hi tina,
It really depends on the interviewer (believe me) they may or may not ask you to present them, like what I’ve experienced during my interview.
my 1st interviewer was a filipino guy on window 19, i had with me all the documents required for Visa, especially the divorce decree w/ stamped and dry sealed. You know what? Di naman nya kinuha tinanong ko pa sya ” eh sir ito pong divorce papers?” interviewer: ”ah hindi na meron na kaming copy nyan” -see?
and also all proofs like; pictures, wedding stuff, hotel receipts, chat and emails, phone bills, love letters and cards, plane tickets, money transfer and other things as a proof.
Di nya rin naman kinuha lahat, left with me are; hotel receipts, plane tickets and chat and emails, yung phone bills ako pa naginsist, sabi ko ‘’sir ito pong phone bills” he said; ”oh sige akina”.
O di ba?
Another thing, i’m done with my 1st interview in less than 5 minutes. IT REALLY DEPENDS ON THE INTERVIEWER.
Kasi yung kasabay ko from start to finish, magkakasunod kasi kami ng number(11, 12, and 13 my number) kaya naicompare ko, mas una sila sa window 15, & 18, tapos na ko sila hindi pa and took more or less 30 minutes standing in front of the interviewer. see?
Then sa final interview we went to the same window 31, but one by one,
it was a close door interview, the consul was very smart yet kind and charming, i think she is an african-american. in less than 10 or 15 minutes tapos na.
BTW, I am K3
I would suggest, bring all the documents that you know it could help for your VISA interview, even if they will ask it or not, theres nothing to lose.
Much better if they ask it, its already on your hand.
Thanks and God bless you!
This is very true. But always remember, it is better to go to battle prepared.
hi po..
ask ko lang sana anu ba yung right size ng picture na dpat dun sa ds 157..pumunta kc ako sa photoshop yung us visa na pic is 2×2 size eh kaso prang maliit xa dun sa ds 156..pls help me nman..and anu bang size ng picture yung kukunin sa st.lukes medical ko na kasi sa monday..
thanks:)
Yes, 2 x2 lang yun. However, it has a specific measurement of the size of the head. The SLEC picture requiremnet is just the same as the embassy’s requirement. Do not worry to much about the difference of the box in the DS forms.
Take from the Department of State’s website:
Photo Size
The photo for each visa applicant submitted must measure:
2 by 2 inches (roughly 50 mm square) with the head centered in the frame.
The head (measured from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin) should measure between 1 inch to 1 3/8 inches (25 mm to 35 mm) with the eye level between 1 1/8 inch to 1 3/8 inches (28 mm and 35 mm) from the bottom of the photo
Miss ting,
its Joyce again, tanong ko lang kong anong requirements ang dapat kong dalhin sa us embassy for registered my daughter for her passport,my husband ask me na u hav to write to miss ting, para daw alam nya kong anong requirements kasi twag sya sa embassy walang sasagot,so i hope u can give some idea what do we need for my daughter passport requirements, salamat talaga miss ting God bless .
Hi Joyce,
Nakakatuwa ka naman. You can start by calling ACS-Air21/FedEx at (02) 879-4747 7:30am to 4:30pm Philippine time Mon-Fri, not the embassy.
Air21/FedEx Courier Step by Step Procedure :
1) Call Air21/FedEx courier service and request delivery of specific application forms that you need. Please mention that you need form DS-2029 or CRBA, if you have not done this yet and read its instructions for the required docs.
2) Complete the forms and prepare the supporting documents (like NSO issued birth certificate of your child, a copy of your husband’ current passport, NSO issued marriage certificate, a copy of divorce decree and/or final annulment,a proof of physical presence of USC husband — driver’s license, bills with US address, etc. , a copy of old or current passports with entry/exit stamps, military orders, etc. (if in military)>
3) Call Air21/FedEx courier service and request for pick up and delivery of your completed forms and supporting documents to the U.S. Embasy.
4) The Passport and Citizenship Unit of the U.S. Embassy will contact you for a personal interview appointment.
5) Air21/FedEx will deliver your completed CRBA and/or passport right to your home.
ting, tanong sana ako kong yong ‘original and a copy of passport’ yan bay aking passport, kasi wala pa akong passport hindi ako maka kuha ng passport kong hindi ako magpunta sa cfo cebu, para mag siminar sabi nila kailangan kong sfo certifecate bago ako makakuha ng passport saan ba dito ang tutuo , kailangan ko ang mga sagot mo ting,at saka ‘a copy of passport with arrival stamp yan ang passport ng husband ko, wla kasi sya dito andon sya sa amirica ngayon puydi ba nyang ipadala lang nya sa akin ipa fax or i send email then i will print nalang , puydi ba yon or i print nalang nya doon ,at i send nya sa akin sa fed ex, nag hintay ako sa sagot mo ting,
Hi Jing,
When you will attend the CFO seminar as a requirement for your Phil passport, you just have to tell the seminar attendees that you do not have your passport yet. They will automatically understand your case. It should be OK. Just do not forget to bring a valid photo ID for identification.
Your husband can just scan and email it to you. No problem, This is what I did. I NEVER had the my husband’s original passport in my hand throughout the process.
jho
thanks for the reply but we are applying for I-130 will it be the same?thanks in advance
Hi mary jan mitchell,
Magkaiba ang I-130 sa Kvisas
I-130 is an immigrant visa and no need to AOS pag USA ka na
kaya lang medyo matagal daw ang process nito. thats why merong I-129F or K visas for us to be with our loved ones in the USA while waiting for the I-130 and need ng AOS.
Thanks, God bless!!
hello ms. ting and hello everyone too.
first i would like to say thank you for answering my question before ms. ting. it really help me to brighten my confusion. thanks allot.
me and my daughter had our medical last sep. 23-25, 2009. i pass my medical exam but my daughter did not. she got possitve on her Tuberculin skin test and her pulmonary evaluation said that she has a small scar of her right lungs. the doctor said that she need to have a second x-ray on nov.25th. my question is, i will be having my visa interview on october 6. shall i bring my daughter still during the interview? shall i still bring the papers of my daughter in the interview? what happen when i pass the interview, do the embassy still issue me a visa even without the medical results of my daughter? i need your advices guys,,, please help
Hi Rose,
Sorry to hear this.
A passing medical report is a REQUIREMENT in getting a visa. It is a waste of the visa fee is you will pay and bring her to the interview but the X-Ray date is a month away.
I am afraid, but you just have to decide whether you will have YOUR interview as scheduled (minus your child) or re-schedule your interview after her second X-Ray on 11-25.
Worst case scenario — you will be approved with your visa and your child is tested positive for TB. She has no choice but to undergo treatment with SLEC from 3-6 months. Take note, the validity of the issued K visa is ONLY 6 months. But your daughter cn still follw-to-join you on a K-2 visa.
I can’t imagine being in your situation. But just hope for the best.
gie and jho, ask sna me uli in addition me sa question me above, nung nkilala me ung fiance me last oct.25 2008 and this coming oct. 25 2009 1 year plang kmi, hindi b ako mgkaproblem sa interview khit wla pa kami 2yrs? kc genuine nman din ung relationship nmin eh, and one more thing 1 time lng din cia umuwi d2 ok lng kaya un khit 1 beses lng? all i know 1 time is enough. and d rin nman cia mkauwi dhil s economy now and work nia, and ung pgkuha pa smin ng baby me, hope you can reply both, tnx. tina
As long as you have met IN PERSON within the last 2 years, it’s fine.
Hello tina,
Ting is correct, may nakasabay nga ako sa interview, less than a year pa lang sila at 5 days lang nagstay dito bf nya, but then she was approved.
Just hold on to the word of God. ”Be still and know that I AM your God.”
”When GOD gives us blessings, HE will not add any sorrow into it.”
Good luck! |God bless!!
Miss ting,

Hi Ting
Have A Nice Day Ting
Mag ask lang ko ting How much tanan magasto sa medical..
ang sa medical fee lang.?
tnx
aydsss
Hi Ayds,
The medical examination fee is US$213.35 for adults (15 years of age or older) and US$185.35 for children (14 years of age or younger). Repeat X-rays will cost US$7 each. Fees must be paid only in Philippine pesos at the prevailing exchange rate.
Libre na dito yung mga vaccines na needed.
how can i ask question here
Just post your question as a comment..like what you just did.
Miss Ting,
ask again me about my 3 yrs old daughter since im going to process her US passport does she needs her medekal also miss ting,at meron bang charge sa kanya if we both hav a medekal and how much..thanks miss ting dami ko na sagot malapit na kasi akong punta sa manila i want all prepared b4 fly to manila miss ting, i hope u answer all my question, salamat tlaga miss ting,
Hi Joyce,
Once your child has the US passport, she is already a US citizen. She DOES NOT need to apply for any type of visa at all. She can enter and exit the US soil with just her US passort. In short, she does not have to undergo what you have to, including the medical exam at SLEC.
The medical examination fee is US$213.35 for adults (15 years of age or older) and US$185.35 for children (14 years of age or younger). Repeat X-rays will cost US$7 each. Fees must be paid only in Philippine pesos at the prevailing exchange rate.
Libre na dito yung mga vaccines na needed.
tina i don’t see any problem if 1 time ka nya lang navisit as long as ma establish mo na u have a genuine relationship with your petitioner. basta jus be yourself…kapg inask ka sagutin mo…basta kung anu yung tinatanong sagutin mo wag ka magkwento or magdagdag what i mean is answer only what is being asked
hi po miss ting and gie, tnx po s reply clear npo skin lhat, and nsvi ko na rin po sa fiance me na i need a copy of his passport the time that he went here and divorce decree, pa2dala nlang dw po nia, miss ting gaano po ba ktagal bgo mkakuha ng divorce decree sa court? maraming salamat po sa lahat, god bless always! huwag po kau mgsawa smin
Hi Tina,
This depends on what office your petitioner will get it. Like here in FL (Dept of Health), the normal availability is 2-3 weeks. However, if you want to get the RUSH SERVICE for an additional fee of $10.00, it’s only 3 business days.
hi po miss ting ask lng po uli me, kc pgpunta po me dun then pkasal kmi dun, no po ba ang requirements for marriage? kailangan ko po ba ng bc ko na certified? and ung about po sa adoption ng fiance ko sa baby kong 3yrs old, ano po ang mga require documents n kailangan me dlin sa us ung mga important documents po para madali nia ma adopt ang baby me? kc po ung last name nia ang gamit nia ung last name ko, at wla nadin po kmi connection nung ama nia since i gave birth to her, even in her certified copy ng bc ng baby me eh last name ko ang gamit, do you think po ba makaka2long un ng madaling process about sa adoption nia, miss pls help me po again about this, pra maready ko na rin po ung mga kailangan ko about sa baby ko. tnx po uli, god bless always!
Hi Tina,
I suggest that you bring along with you 2-3 certified copies of your and your child’s BC and your MC for your file, just in case, you will need this along the way. It is very expensive to request these docs with NSO once you are already here in the US.
As for the adoption of your 3-year old baby, do it when you are already here in the US. This is called in-state adoption. There should be no problem because this is a stepparent adoption case. The first thing to do is check your state legislation (click HERE)about this kind of adoption. You can start by calling your local County Circuit Courthouse on where to get the necessary forms. Like here in our locality, the cost is only about 300-400dollars. In some states, you can do this process without an attorney.
hi miss ting its me again., i just wanna say thank u kc kung hindi dahil sa blog mo cguro di ko malalaman na need pa pala umattend ng cfo seminar for the sticker. btw im here na sa US i arrrived yesterday..im here in layton, utah.. ask me ulit f pano ba magfile ng AOS.. im getting married on october…thank u soooo much ting… god bless u and ur family…

cdo
hi ms. ting…thanks po for answering our questions, btw just a follow up question my hubby filed for I-130 will the timeframe be the same from the NOA2 till we recieve the instruction from NVC?and regarding his divorce paper will it be ok if he’ll just have it scanned pdf version then ill just have it printed?hope to hear from you…and also regarding my hemorrhoids do you think they would really ask me to have it healed before they issue me a visa?pls po i need your opinion…thanks in advance
Hi Mary Jan Mitchell,
Give it about 2 weeks. As for the divorce decree, you need the CERTIFIED copy. About your hemorrhoids, I do not think, they will need you to heal it first before they will issue visa.
Hi Ting,
My husband received a letter from NVC, telling him that they had received the approved immigrant visa petition I-130 and they requested him to pay for AOS fee $70. and my husband paid for that online, and it is now in process. do you think he just did the right thing? because i read a note from the NVC.
Note: If it is the applicant’s intention to adjust status with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), please contact the National Visa Center before taking further action or making any payment.
The NVC also send him the DS-3032. that is for me to choose address and agent to receive the immigrant visa.
Do you think I should fill up this one? Should we proceed to process this immigrant visa AOS fee and DS-3032 rather than adjusting our status with the USCIS when I arrive to US? please suggest what should we do. I’m just confused.
My husband also received a letter from NVC notifying him that they received our approved petition for K3 visa. and that they will forward the packet to the manila embassy in a week.
My question also is, do I need to fill up the DS-3032 now? or can I do it later, after I get my K3 visa?
I think, with the K3 visa, we will really need to adjust status with the USCIS. And so, the $70 AOS fee and DS-3032 is not applicable? what do you think?
hope to hear from you soon. pls email me too.
Thanks

Hi Joyce,
No need na yung presenc eng husband mo…unless if the embassy will require your husband and your kid to have DNA testing to prove paternity. No choice, if this is the case. Your husband has to come there in Pinas.

Hi Tina,
Sulatan mo na lang na “U” yung “A”, para maging Bulacan. Gamit ka ng black pen.

Hi Joyce,
Yung BC ko, blurry rin. Yung name ko sulat-kmay lang pero it’s in NSO SECPA copy, so it’s good as original na rin. No problem naman.
